Jeremy Pena Still Absent Tuesday
1 year agoHouston Astros shortstop Jeremy Pena (neck) remains out of the lineup on Tuesday against the visiting Colorado Rockies. Pena will miss his fifth straight game due to neck tightness that he developed late last week. At this point, an injured-list stint heading into next week's All-Star break wouldn't be a big surprise. Mauricio Dubon will man the 6 yet again on Tuesday and hit second against Rockies left-hander Kyle Freeland. The good news is that the 25-year-old Pena was seen fielding ground balls on Monday, so perhaps he's turning a corner with his injury. Pena remains day-to-day for now. He's currently sporting a .247/.302/.399 slash line on the season with nine home runs, 16 doubles, a triple, 30 RBI, eight stolen bases and 40 runs scored in 76 games in his second major-league season.
