Ja'Tavion Sanders 2025 Fantasy Football Outlook: Panthers TE1, But Can He Take The Leap?
Ja'Tavion Sanders seemed to be set up well for a prominent role in his offense before a neck injury that caused him to be carted off the field in Week 12 interrupted his first season. After the aliment, he was hardly targeted, seeing just eight targets and four catches over his final five contests after missing Week 13 altogether. The Panthers didn't add a tight end that should present a challenge for his TE1 spot, but in a bad and inconsistent offense, things could be rough. Panthers quarterback Bryce Young appeared to have a break out in the second half of his 2024 season, but on a smaller sample size of games and often against inferior competition. And Carolina spent the 8th-overall pick to draft WR Tetairoa McMillan, bringing another player that could be a target hog. Sanders might not be good enough to earn a prominent and consistent role, and Young has never been a high volume passer. The Panthers offense might only be able to support one consistent fantasy threat, if even that. Sanders thus projects as a risky TE2/TE3 option without a lot of clear upside that could just languish on benches without many opportunities to put up nice stat lines.
