James Paxton Still Feeling Pain In Knee
6 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher James Paxton (knee) still felt pain in his left knee after making a start in extended spring training on Friday. The left-hander allowed one hit while striking out seven in four innings after having not pitched since May 3. “If I come in tomorrow with more pain than I had walking in today, then we’ll have to do something,” Paxton added. “But, if I come in tomorrow and it feels the same as it did walking in today, then that’s just how I’m going to have to pitch for right now.” He threw 42 of his 55 pitches for strikes. Paxton is 3-2 with a 3.11 ERA in seven starts for the Yankees this year and needs to remain stashed in all leagues. If he feels OK on Saturday he could be activated from the injured list next week.
