Jake Oettinger Collects First Shutout of the Season
Dallas Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger registered his first shutout of the season in Tuesday's 1-0 victory over Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals. He stopped 24 shots, while Tyler Seguin did the business on the offensive end with a power-play goal. Oettinger has blown hot and cold early in the season. After beginning the campaign with three consecutive wins, he took three straight losses. Now, Oettinger has started to build another winning streak, securing back-to-back victories. He has a 5-2-1 record with a 2.61 goals-against average and a .909 save percentage. Tuesday's matchup was only his fourth outing of the season with two or fewer goals allowed, so Oettinger has plenty of room for improvement.
