Jacob Young Sitting on Wednesday
Jacob Young (back) is not in the lineup on Wednesday against the Miami Marlins. Young went 2-for-2 with an RBI, a run scored, and a stolen base in a 5-2 win over the Marlins on Tuesday, but he had to leave early with back spasms. The Nationals are idle on Thursday, so Young will get an extra day off to recover. The 26-year-old has played in 105 games this season and hit .235/.303/.387 with one homer, 26 RBI, 31 runs, and 14 steals in 326 plate appearances. Robert Hassell III will take Young's place in center field on Wednesday and bat seventh against right-hander Eury Perez.
