Jacob deGrom Frustrated By Last Outing
6 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Jacob deGrom (hip) was frustrated that he was pulled from his last outing early as a precaution after suffering a cramp in his hip. He was at just 89 pitches against Arizona on Saturday when the team decided to take him out with two outs in the seventh inning, and the Mets bullpen blew a four-run lead to lose in 11 innings. deGrom allowed five hits and an earned run while walking one and striking out seven in 6 2/3 frames in the no-decision. While he's nowhere close to the Cy Young form he had in 2018, deGrom is still an elite fantasy starter and has a 3.49 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 84 strikeouts in 69 2/3 innings (12 starts) on the year. He should be fine to make his next outing.
