New York Islanders goaltender Ilya Sorokin stopped all 23 shots he faced en route to shutting out the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday evening. The Flyers dominated the shot total in the second period, but Sorokin was able to lead the way. This victory extended New York's winning streak to six games. Sorokin has won each of his previous five starts. During this stretch, the 29-year-old has held a stellar .964% SV with a 0.99 GAA. He has posted two shutouts over this five-game stretch and only allowed more than one goal in one contest. Overall, Sorokin has posted an 18-14-4 record with a.907% SV and a 2.65 GAA. However, the netminder has begun to put his slow start behind him and remains a must-start goaltender for the time being. He will look to extend the winning streak on Saturday evening in Tampa Bay.--Andy Smith
