New York Islanders goaltender Ilya Sorokin performed admirably in Thursday's matchup against the Detroit Red Wings, finishing a 5-0 road victory with his second shutout of the season. Sorokin collected his fourth victory in five starts, making 29 saves. It's his 24th career shutout with the Islanders, and Sorokin now needs only one more clean sheet to tie Glenn Resch for the franchise record. After a rocky start to the season, Sorokin has reclaimed a spot among the NHL's best shot-stoppers, going 5-1-1 over his last seven appearances. The hot streak has improved Sorokin's record for the season to 7-5-2, and he has a 2.71 goals-against average with a .905 save percentage.--Taavi Pailk
