Dodgers Plan To Give Gavin Lux More Starts At Shortstop
1 year agoLos Angeles Dodgers general manager Brandon Gomes said that the plan right now is for infielder Gavin Lux (knee) to log a good amount of starts at shortstop next season. Gomes also said that Lux is progressing in his rehab after tearing the ACL and LCL in his right knee back in spring training earlier this year. He started a running program in late July and could be fully healthy once spring training starts in 2024. With the 25-year-old in line to be the club's primary shortstop, the Dodgers are leaving open the possibility that Miguel Vargas and Michael Busch could play more corner outfield next year. Injuries have been an issue for Lux early in his career, but if he can stay healthy, a breakout season could easily be in the cards in a loaded Dodgers lineup.
