2 years agoAtlanta Falcons defensive coordinator Dean Pees informed the players on Monday that he is retiring, according to sources. The 73-year-old had been weighing the decision in recent weeks. The Falcons are expected to conduct a wide search for their next defensive coordinator. It's the third time that Pees has actually announced his retirement from coaching, but he just finished his 50th year as a coach, dating all the way back to high school. Pees spent the last two years in Atlanta with head coach Arthur Smith. Atlanta finished 23rd in points allowed and No. 27 in yards allowed but gave up no more than 20 points in a game just once in the final six games.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
