Cowboys Could Draft Quarterback In 2023
2 years agoDallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is signed through 2024 and is set to make $31 million fully guaranteed in 2023. He will count $49.13 million against the salary cap. Only Browns QB Deshaun Watson ($54.9 million) will have a larger cap figure. In order to create more cap room next season, the team could give Prescott a contract extension or restructure his current deal. If Dallas stands pat with Prescott's contract, they would have to at least consider taking a QB in this year's draft as Prescott's successor. The Cowboys would be unlikely to trade up within the first round for such a QB, but they also wouldn't wait until the final round either. It will be interesting to see which path the Cowboys take this offseason at the most important position in football.
