Corey Seager Wins Third Silver Slugger Award
1 year agoTexas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager added to his impressive hardware for the 2023 season after winning a World Series title and World Series MVP for the second time in his career, as he was named the American League's Silver Slugger award winner on Thursday. He did it by recording 33 home runs, 96 RBI, 88 runs scored and an AL-high 42 doubles in the regular season to win his third Silver Slugger of his career. Seager did it despite missing nearly six weeks due to injuries. He finished second in the AL in batting average (.327), slugging percentage (.623) and OPS (1.013). The rest of the AL winners were Rays first baseman Yandy Diaz, Rangers second baseman Marcus Semien, Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers, White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr., Mariners outfielder Julio Rodriguez, Astros outfielder Kyle Tucker, Orioles catcher Adley Rutschman, Angels DH Shohei Ohtani and Orioles utility Gunnar Henderson.
