Charlie McAvoy Out Against Hurricanes
Boston Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy (face) won't play on Monday against the Carolina Hurricanes. He might be unavailable for several games because McAvoy may need surgery after taking a puck to the face in Saturday's win over the Montreal Canadiens. With McAvoy out, the Bruins lose quality on both ends of the ice. The star blue-liner has recorded 14 assists, 32 blocks, and 26 hits in 19 games. In his absence, Henri Jokiharju will play on Monday, joining the first defensive pairing and the second power-play unit. A more important role in the Bruins defense will increase Jokiharju's fantasy value, although he hasn't been very impactful this season, posting three assists in 19 appearances.
