Cameron Brate 2022 NFL Player Outlook: Worth a Roster Spot?
2 years agoTampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cameron Brate has become the first-string tight end after future Hall-of-Famer Rob Gronkowski retired in June. Last season, the veteran tight end came in third on the depth chart behind Gronk and O.J. Howard. As a third-string, he accumulated 30 receptions, 245 receiving yards, and four touchdowns over 17 games. It's been a few years since this veteran was No. 1 on the depth chart. In 2017, Howard was drafted in the first round and was the starter until Gronk returned in 2020. 2016, the year Brate was last a starter, he had career highs in receptions (57), receiving yards (660), and touchdowns (8) - a better season than O.J. Howard has ever seen in his career. The six-foot-five tight end shouldn't have a problem revving up this season due to his quarterback (who only seems to get better with age), Tom Brady. Please don't waste a late-round pick on this tight end in your regular fantasy league, but keep an eye on him on the waiver wire during the season. He is worth a roster spot on your dynasty stash roster.
