Brandon Woodruff 2026 Fantasy Baseball Outlook: High Injury Risk, But Dominant When on the Mound
Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Brandon Woodruff (lat) has missed a significant chunk of time due to injury over the past few seasons, making only 23 starts since 2023. The veteran right-hander made his 2025 debut in early. Despite a clear decline in stuff, Woodruff relied on his pristine command and wide arsenal and delivered excellent results supported by elite underlying metrics. The two-time All-Star posted the best strikeout rate of his career (32.3%) and led all starters with a 2.20 xERA over 64 2/3 innings from July to the end of the season (minimum 50 innings). Unfortunately, the 33-year-old's season was cut short again when he suffered a lat strain in September, though he is reportedly in good physical shape as spring training nears. Health remains a major question mark for Woodruff, but he showed over a decent sample that the diminished velocity won't hinder his effectiveness. Woodruff is a classic high-risk, high-reward starter option, currently coming off draft boards around pick 120.
