Brandon Drury Hitting Leadoff, Cavan Biggio Eighth In Debut
6 years agoToronto Blue Jays infielder/outfielder Brandon Drury is starting in right field and batting leadoff on Friday night against Padres starting pitcher Joey Lucchesi. Second baseman Cavan Biggio will start at the keystone and hit eighth in his major league debut. Lourdes Gurriel is also in left field and is hitting seventh in his return to the big leagues. Drury hasn't hit much this year and is batting only .186 in 43 at-bats against lefties this year, but he'll be a DFS sleeper in the leadoff spot. Biggio should be able to hit for average and run a little in Toronto, making him worth a pickup in deeper leagues. However, his fantasy upside might be limited if he hits this low in the order. Gurriel figures to play a utility role in his return to the big leagues. Biggio's presence in Toronto is bad news for Eric Sogard, who has cooled off after a hot start.
