Adalberto Mondesi Blasts Mammoth Homer
6 years agoKansas City Royals shortstop Adalberto Mondesi was at it again in Monday's losing effort to the Astros. With the Royals trailing by one in the top of the fifth inning, Mondesi took a Gerrit Cole fastball out to the deepest part of the park for a two-run shot. The 443-foot blast put KC in the lead for the time being, though they ended up losing the contest. It was Mondesi's fifth home run of the season and as we near the quarter pole for the season, Mondesi is on pace to exceed 20 home runs and 40 stolen bases this season. The change to his strikeout rate seems to be a permanent one, and if he can keep up this level of focus, he'll finish the season as one of the most valuable fantasy players in the league.
