Pavin Smith Exits Early With Quad Tightness
Pavin Smith (quadriceps) exited a 3-2 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday with tightness in his left quadriceps. Smith went 2-for-3 with two singles and a strikeout before the Diamondbacks subbed in Tyler Locklear to pinch run for him in the top of the seventh inning. It was just Smith's eighth game back since he missed about a month and a half with a strained right oblique. The 29-year-old has played in 87 games this season and slashed .258/.362/.434 with eight homers, 28 RBI, and 36 runs scored in 288 plate appearances. If Smith has to miss more time, Locklear would likely step in at first base.
