O.J. Howard (TE, TB) - Fantasy Football Draft Values

Buccaneers tight end O.J. Howard is a potential fantasy football draft sleeper and ADP value pick for 2020. Target him as an undervalued TE in the later rounds.

BALLER MOVE: Target Around ~170 Overall

CURRENT ADP: 180+ (Undrafted)

ANALYSIS: Tampa Bay Buccaneers' tight end O.J. Howard is a freak of nature. That's absolutely out of the question. He is 6'6" and 251 lbs, and he runs a 4.51 40-yard dash (97th percentile). He was the undisputed TE1 coming out of the 2017 draft class, and the Bucs took him with the 19th pick.

Until last season, Howard was dominant whenever he was targeted. He finished fifth in PPR points per game (12.1) and as the TE14 (virtually a low-end TE1) in 2018 despite only playing in 10 games. He graded out higher than Travis Kelce per Pro Football Focus. He was an undisputed top-five fantasy tight end heading into the 2019 season, but he was a total dumpster fire and finished as the TE28...

As a result, his ADP heading into 2020 is a juicy TE24. Look, I know Rob Gronkowski is back and expected to play Tampa's TE1 role, but what is telling you old man Gronk is going to stay healthy for 16 games when he has not played more than 14 games since 2015... and his last season happened in 2018 when he showed an already-diminished skillset (131.2 PPR points for TE23)?

Howard has the size and the talent to dominate opposing linebackers and defensive backs, and now he has Tom Brady throwing him the ball, who some might say has had some success throwing to his tight ends in the past. The risk is virtually nothing, but the reward could be substantial if things align for him this season.

Waiver Wire Pickups: Running Backs

Let's say you're one of the many fantasy football managers who drafted Los Angeles Chargers running back Omarion Hampton (ankle). Maybe you chose Cardinals RB James Conner (ankle). Perhaps you selected Titans tailback Tony Pollard. If you chose any of these players, you've probably been hurting at RB for most of the season. The same […]

Waiver Wire Pickups: Wide Receivers

The wide receiver position is just a little bit more forgiving than the running back position in terms of finding talent on the waiver wire. It's hard to find players that will be consistently good moving forward, though. Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans (collarbone), Green Bay Packers wideout Christian Watson, and Houston Texans […]
