NHL DFS Lineup Picks (3/28/16): FanDuel & DraftKings Daily Fantasy Hockey Advice

Demetri Raftopoulos' DFS advice for 3/28/16. Daily Fantasy Hockey Lineup Picks and sleepers for FanDuel & DraftKings NHL cash games and GPPs.

Welcome to the Daily Fantasy Hockey (NHL DFS) lineup picks article for Monday, March 28th of the 2015/2016 NHL season. Each day we'll be providing you with a handful of forward, defensemen, and goaltender picks for DraftKings and FanDuel GPP and cash games.

Eight games make up Monday's card, all with plenty of playoff implication attached to each. Every team has less than 10 games left on their regular season. Now, their eyes are set on solidifying their spot in the postseason.

Tonight's lineup features plenty of value options including two goalies heading into solid matchups. For updated goalie confirmations, check out leftwinglock.com.

NHL DFS Picks for Monday, March 28th

A couple strategy notes. For cash game construction look for players who can contribute to your score when they are not providing offense. Examples are guys who take a ton of shots, defensemen who block a lot of shots(DraftKings). Also, look for guys who get powerplay time and especially Top 6 forwards. You can find value in players who join a new line due to an injury or just get a promotion and more ice time.

For large field tournaments (GPP's) you want to find payers who have multi point upside and can grab double digit fantasy points. To stack the most upside in your forwards a common strategy is to punt the defense position. This doesn't mean just grab anyone. Try and look for a D man who will be playing more PP time or might get a boost in overall playing time due to an injury.

Let's take a look at some solid plays for today's action.

Ben Bishop - Goaltender, Lightning (DraftKings - $8,100 FanDuel - $ )

Bishop has won three straight starts and heads into an awesome matchup against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Leafs have the fewest points in the league while the Lightning keep pushing and knocking on Florida's door for the top spot in the Atlantic division. Bishop has also posted two shutouts in his last 10 games and should have no trouble coming close against a team that is in the bottom five of goals scored per game.

Steve Mason - Goaltender, Flyers (DraftKings - $7,700 FanDuel - $ )

Despite losing their last game, the Flyers have been playing well and currently sit in the final wild card spot in the Eastern Conference, although tied in points with the Detroit Red Wings. The Flyers have a game on hand. Mason has only given up two goals in three straight games, including an overtime loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets where he made an impressive 51 saves. Mason also has a solid matchup and faces the Winnipeg Jets, who also struggle to score. The Jets are all but out of the playoffs, but don't count them out. Mason will still need to bring his A-game as the Flyers have recently dropped games to non-playoff bound teams like the Arizona Coyotes and Blue Jackets.

Ryan Getzlaf - Center, Ducks (DraftKings - $6,800 FanDuel - $ )

Getzlaf has posted a point in three straight games, four total in that span (one goal, three assists). He tallies his fair share of blocked shots and an abundance of shots on goal, while seeing plenty of time on the power play. Getzlaf has been an assist machine all season but has picked up his scoring game this month a bit, lighting the lamp three times as March winds down. He is a solid option for both DFS sites and should be considered for both cash and GPP contests.

Ryan Johansen - Center, Predators (DraftKings - $5,800 FanDuel - $ )

Johansen has picked up 10 points in his last 10 games, which is all we can ever ask for regarding Daily Fantasy; consistency. Johansen has posted four points in his last three games and is an affordable option that can spread stats in multiple areas. The Predators sit comfortably in the first wild card spot in the Western Conference, yet are only two points behind the Chicago Blackhawks for the third divisional playoff spot in the Central. Johansen has been a solid option all season and has picked up his game of late.

Jakub Voracek - Winger, Flyers (DraftKings - $6,300 FanDuel - $ )

Claude Giroux recently left Philadelphia's last game early against the Coyotes after getting checked into the boards face first. Even though he appears to be OK, his status for the Flyers next game is uncertain. If Giroux can't lace up, Voracek's value increases as he will be called upon to pick up the slack in the captain's absence. Voracek has not been blowing anybody away with his performances lately, but still has 50 points on the season and is more than capable of providing offense for the surging Flyers. He has 40 helpers on the year and should be used in both DraftKings and FanDuel.

Jamie McGinn - Winger, Ducks (DraftKings - $4,400 FanDuel - $ )

McGinn has accumulated four points in his last four games, consisting of three goals and one assist, bumping up his goal total to five in his last 10. McGinn puts the puck on net around two to three times a contest and sees a ton of minutes on the power play. He can be used on both sites, but McGinn's value is higher on FanDuel as he doesn't really tally too many blocked shots.

Mattias Ekholm - Defenseman, Predators (DraftKings - $4,400 FanDuel - $ )

Ekholm has averaged four shots of goal in his last two, and seems to produce more when his ice time is well over 20 minutes. Ekholm has posted two points in his last two, a goal and an assist, and has shown that he can block multiple shots in one game. Ekholm is an affordable option on both site who doesn't need to score or assist to gather fantasy points for lineups.

Zach Bogosian - Defenseman, Sabres (DraftKings - $4,800 FanDuel - $ )

Although he's cooled down a bit since picking up 10 points in 12 games, Bogosian can also heavily contribute to Daily Fantasy lineups even without scoring or assisting. Bogosian blocks shots, puts the puck on net often, and tallies a ton of penalty minutes, balancing out his value on DraftKings and FanDuel. He plays well over 20 minutes a night and has shown he's more than capable of contributing on the offensive side of the puck as well.
