William Karlsson - DK $5.1K || FD $6.7K
Opponent - Los Angeles Kings
William "Wild Bill" Karlsson made his season debut for the Vegas Golden Knights two games ago, immediately scoring one goal and adding two assists, along with six shots and four blocked shots over his first two games. This reinforces an already strong Vegas team that is deep down the middle. Tonight, they face a struggling LA Kings team that lost last night in San Jose, notably missing Kevin Fiala, who was a late scratch for missing a team meeting. The Kings have a record of 5-3-2 to start the season, but three of their wins were against weaker teams: Montreal, San Jose, and Anaheim. I really like Vegas in this matchup, especially since they are fresh and rested while the Kings played last night.
There was a plan for William Karlsson at the start of the year on who he skated with. That's changed for the time being.
It doesn't matter. Karlsson remains a non-stop engine that will make any line he centers a good one.

Opponent - Detroit Red Wings
Tonight, the Winnipeg Jets will face the Detroit Red Wings after losing their first game of the season to the Toronto Maple Leafs. So far this year, we’ve discovered that targeting the Red Wings' second line is effective. Nikolaj Ehlers is starting to heat up, as he has recorded two goals, one assist, and nine shots in his last three games. I expect him to continue this trend tonight in Detroit against a team that ranks in the bottom four of the NHL in terms of shots against per 60 minutes (SA/60), expected goals against per 60 minutes (XGA/60), and scoring chances against per 60 minutes (SCA/60).

Rasmus Andersson - DK $6.0K || FD $8.0K
Opponent - Utah
One of my favorite types of players to use in DFS is a defenseman who not only takes shots on goal but also has a strong commitment to blocking shots. Andersson is one of the best examples in the NHL. Through nine games this season, he has recorded four goals and six assists (making him a power play contributor), along with 14 shots and 32 blocked shots. A phrase my colleague Doug Shain coined a few years ago is "SABS," which stands for Shot Attempts and Block Shots. Andersson would be among the league leaders in SABS this season, averaging over five per game. He provides a solid floor in terms of fantasy points, along with a ceiling that could easily yield three times his price on any given night.
