Welcome back, RotoBallers! This Wednesday night, the Thunder are back home in Oklahoma City looking to book a trip to the NBA Finals. They took a commanding 3-1 series lead with a tough road win on Monday, and have a chance to close out the series with a win at home, where they won both Game 1 and Game 2. Both teams rely heavily on the star scoring guards, but other players can also bring good fantasy value.
Let's dive into the Game 5 matchup and hopefully bring in some more cash for the rest of the playoffs. This article will focus on the top guys to play at Captain's Pick or MVP, some flex guys to put in your utility spots, and a couple of value options to make the rest of the lineup work. Keep a close eye on injury news or rotation adjustments, but the playing time is mostly established at this point in the series.
Coming into the day, it's essential to have a game plan ready to adjust as needed before tip-off. This article will provide my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 5/28/25. Remember to monitor NBA injury news and our excellent NBA injuries report tool in case breaking news changes any of the outlook before the action gets underway at 8:30 p.m. EDT on DraftKings.
Today's NBA DFS MVP Picks
Both DraftKings and FanDuel have similar scoring structures for showdown contests. One key player in each lineup produces 1.5x the normal fantasy points, but that player also costs 1.5x their normal salary. On DraftKings, that player is your Captain, while on FanDuel, that centerpiece is given the title MVP. Here are the top two players I'd consider building around for Game 5.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, OKC - PG ($18.6 DK, $24.6K FD)
This season's MVP surely played like it in Game 4. He bounced back from his worst game of the playoffs when the Thunder were blown out in Game 3 by going off for 40 points, 10 assists, and nine rebounds for 68.25 DraftKings points and 63.8 FanDuel points.

Aside from the weird anomaly in the blowout loss in Game 3, SGA has over 55 DraftKings points and 55 FanDuel points in each game of this series. In the postseason, has a 32.1% usage rate and has produced 1.36 DraftKings points per minute. He has taken the Thunder to the precipice of the NBA Finals, and look for him to be the one to lead them to the next level on Wednesday night.
Jalen Williams, OKC - SF/PF ($14.7 DK, $18.6K FD)
Williams has been the perfect complement to Gilgeous-Alexander throughout the season and specifically in this series. He produced at least 47 DraftKings points and 48 FanDuel points in three of the four games in this series, with Game 3's blowout the only outlier. In that game, he only played 25 minutes since things got out of hand early.
He and the whole team bounced back in a big way in Game 4, and Williams scored a playoff-high 34 points on his way to 53.25 DraftKings points and 52.1 FanDuel points.

If paying for SGA in your Captain's Pick spot is too pricey and stretches your salary cap too thin, swapping in Williams and moving SGA to a utility slot can give a little salary relief while keeping your lineup's ceiling very high. Williams has been sharp for most of the playoffs, especially posting big games at home in OKC.
Others To Consider: Anthony Edwards
Today's NBA DFS Utility
These players are ones you may want to add to your Utility spots:
Jaden McDaniels, MIN - SF/PF ($7.2K DK, $8.4K FD)
McDaniels has been boom or bust throughout the playoffs, but he stepped up with a big Game 4 while both Edwards and Randle struggled. He had 22 points and over 40 DraftKings points since he added exceptional contributions across the board. He also scored 22 points in Game 2 in Oklahoma City and added three blocks on his way to 32 DraftKings points.
McDaniels can produce good numbers on both ends of the floor and has shown he can go off for huge games this postseason. He brings that high ceiling to a must-win spot for the Wolves, and I expect another strong performance from him on the wing.
Donte DiVincenzo, MIN - PG/SG ($5K DK, $4.4K FD)
DiVincenzo stepped up in Game 4 for the Timberwolves as well, contributing one of his best games of the postseason. He finished with 21 points and 33.1 FanDuel points in 28 minutes. The playing time shifted his way and away from veteran starter Mike Conley, which it has done in crunch time in each of the Timberwolves' playoff series. If that trend continues in Game 5, DiVincenzo brings a very high ceiling for his affordable utility salary, especially on FanDuel, where he comes especially cheap.
Both McDaniels and DiVincenzo have been inconsistent in this series, but so have their teammates Randle and Edwards. Rather than paying up for more risk, it makes sense to attack this showdown slate by building around the steadier Thunder and going with value plays from the Wolves with potential upside at a lower cost.
Others To Consider: Chet Holmgren, Alex Caruso

Today's NBA DFS Value Picks
Nickeil Alexander-Walker, MIN - SG/SF ($3.4K DK, $3K FD)
Alexander-Walker is another member of Minnesota's supporting cast who can blow up for a big game. He will need another strong showing on Wednesday night to help his team keep the season alive. He played 29 minutes off the bench on Monday and finished with a huge 41.8 FanDuel points at a bargain salary.

Alexander-Walker fits whatever role his team needs coming off the bench, but in every game this series, he has had to take an active scoring role. He has at least 12 points in the last three games and has become a great value option as the Timberwolves' key catalyst in the second unit.
Cason Wallace, PG/SG - OKC ($4.2K DK, $3.4K FD)
Wallace hasn't been playing quite as many minutes as Alex Caruso, but he has been the better producer as a role player for the Thunder. He has played at least 28 minutes in each of the three competitive games in this series, with over 18 DraftKings points in each of those three contests. He had seven points in 28 minutes in Game 4, but he supplemented that scoring with three rebounds, three assists, two steals, and a block.
Wallace's low-usage role does limit his ceiling, but his non-scoring numbers make him a strong enough option to be a good value pivot even though he isn't quite as affordable as NAW.
Others to Consider: Isaiah Joe, Mike Conley
