NASCAR Xfinity Series: DraftKings DFS Lineup Picks for Daytona Beef. It's What's For Dinner. 300 (2/19/22)

The NASCAR Xfinity Series is back for 2022!

We head to Daytona this weekend. Qualifying will take place just a few hours before the start of the race, which means we won't have place differential stuff until after this article publishes, so in lieu of giving specific picks, I'll be doing a run-through of drivers in this field who might interest me today.

Here at RotoBaller, we want to help you make informed decisions about your DFS lineups, which is why I'll be breaking down the slates for the Xfinity Series. Let's look at some NASCAR Xfinity DFS lineup picks for the Beef. It's What's For Dinner 300 on DraftKings. Be sure to also check out our NASCAR Premium Tools for Xfinity Series including our DFS Lineup Optimizer and powerful Research Station.

Post-Qualifying Twitter Update Thread

You can keep reading to see why I like some drivers in a vacuum, but now that qualifying has happened, I'm linking to a short thread I made with thoughts about this race:

Give it a read. Give me a follow. Etc., etc., etc.

How The Top-Priced Drivers Have Done At Daytona

There are three drivers who cost $10,000 or more on DraftKings, so let's break down how those drivers have run at Daytona.

A.J. Allmendinger ($10,400): Allmendinger has been part of a really strong Kaulig superspeedway program lately, but things look a little different with Kaulig this year, as Landon Cassill and Daniel Hemric are now his teammates. That shouldn't change how good this team is at Daytona though. Kaulig has won two of the last three races here with Justin Haley. A.J. Allmendinger had top fives in both races here last year. He should be a strong contender for the win.

Daniel Hemric ($10,300): Hemric moves over to Kaulig this year after winning the championship last year for Gibbs. He earned his first career win in the season finale last year and is a trendy pick to post some wins this year. Like Allmendinger, he's a top contender to win on Saturday based on the strength of this program.

Ty Gibbs ($10,100): Gibbs set the world on fire last year in a part-time ride, winning four times while driving in 18 races. The fact that Gibbs has never run a superspeedway race in Xfinity is concerning, but he did finish fourth here in an ARCA race last year. I think I might shy away from Gibbs in my lineups unless he qualifies back in the pack and gets the place differential boost.

Mid-Price NASCAR DFS Options

Looking at some guys between $7,000 and $10,000, we see some intriguing options.

Landon Cassill ($9,400) has to be the most interesting, as he joins the Kaulig brigade. Anything can happen at Daytona and anyone can wreck, but lately it's seemed like these Kaulig cars are magic and just end up being there, lined up nose to tail, in the closing laps. For that reason, I'm targeting him.

JRM cars are usually strong here, so Justin Allgaier ($9,900), Noah Gragson ($9,800), Josh Berry ($9,600) and Sam Mayer ($8,900) are on my radar. Whoever qualifies the worst of those four will be my favorite.

Drew Dollar ($7,800) isn't very good based on his Truck Series results, but he's a mid-price Gibbs driver, which is enough to pique my interest.

The three Our Motorsports drivers are candidates to start a little deep in the field but then emerge near the top by the end of the race: Brett Moffitt ($8,500), Anthony Alfredo ($7,500) and Jeb Burton ($8,000).

Potential NASCAR DFS Sleeper Picks

Let's look at potential options under $7,000.

Ryan Truex ($7,000) is right there at this fake limit I set on value picks. He's in a pretty strong Sam Hunt Racing car. He was fourth fastest in practice, though I hope for the sake of place differential that he isn't that fast in qualifying.

Jade Buford ($6,200) will pilot the 48 for Big Machine Racing. This car showed decent speed last season, and Danny Bohn even got a top 20 at Daytona in it. Buford is better than Danny Bohn.

The JDM cars are always cheap and are also always candidates to hang back and survive the carnage. There are fewer of them this year which could hurt in terms of drafting partners, but I anticipate Bayley Currey ($5,100) and Ryan Vargas ($5,000) to guys who you can confidently fill your lineup with.

Want a surprise pick? Ronnie Bassett Jr. ($4,700) had decent practice speed. If he qualifies in the top 20 like he practiced, I'll fade him, but if the qualifying run isn't great, he's someone I might throw in some lineups.

Of course, with 47 drivers attempting to qualify, it's hard to really highlight too many value plays. 38 cars will make this field, so drivers who you might want to target for their upside could wind up missing the race entirely.
