NASCAR Xfinity Series: DraftKings DFS Lineup Picks for Darlington Sports Clips / VFW Help A Hero 200 (9/4/21)

On Saturday, the NASCAR Xfinity Series heads to Darlington. The only touring series that hasn't yet started the playoffs, this is a race with a lot up for grabs.

Lot of interesting drivers in this race including starts by Tyler Reddick and Austin Dillon, plus Denny Hamlin is in the 54 this week.

Here at RotoBaller, we want to help you make informed decisions about your DFS lineups, which is why I'll be breaking down the slates for the Xfinity Series. Let's look at some NASCAR Xfinity DFS lineup picks for the Sports Clips / VFW Help A Hero 200 on DraftKings. Austin Dillon #31 ($10,800)

Starting 35th

Sure, you could play Denny Hamlin in that 54 car and hope he wins the race, but there's just too much place differential upside with the other Cup drivers for me to ignore them at a track like Darlington, where things get torn up and the favorite to win can't be fully counted on.

(With that said, play some Hamlin. Play some Justin Allgaier too, as he could dominate.)

Anyway, Dillon. The 2013 Xfinity champion has run four races this season, but none yet in this 31 car. He has a top 10 while driving the 23, though.

The 31 has looked good at times this year, with four top 10 finishes out of the car earlier in the year. There have been some bad runs lately, but Dillon has the talent to get this car into the top 10. And when I have a chance at top 10 upside from a starting spot of 35th, I take it.

Tyler Reddick #23 ($10,200)

Starting 28th

Reddick jumps into the Our Motorsports car again this week. Last time he was in it, he finished 16th at Michigan.

This car isn't as good as the 31 that Austin Dillon is driving, but it's not a bad car. There have been five top 10s out of the car this year, including a fifth-place run at Atlanta from Ty Dillon.

Maybe more impressive: perennial backmarker Tanner Berryhill drove the car at the first Darlington race and finished 21st. Berryhill isn't a very good driver, but he had one of his best runs ever in that race.

Meanwhile, Reddick has two top fives in three Xfinity races here.

Michael Annett #1 ($8,100)

Starting 19th

Love the upside with Annett this week. He's missed a few races this year due to injury and basically has to win a race to make the playoffs. I don't think he wins this race, but I think he has a better shot than he usually would at finding victory lane.

Annett has just three top 10s in 10 Xfinity races at Darlington, but two of those came in the last two races here. Annett's figured this track out and should, at the very least, get you a top 15 finish, but there's clear top 10 upside. Great mid-priced play.

Brandon Brown #68 ($7,600)

Starting 23rd

Brown is really good at finishing between 11th and 15th.

He hasn't really done that historically at Darlington though, with just one finish in the top 15 here. But the advanced data here is nice -- a quality passing rate of 50 percent or better in three of the last four races here, and two races with Brown running at least half of the laps in the top 15.

He's faded some down the stretch at Darlington, but he has a good chance of running up in the top 15 for most of the day. Get a little lucky and we could see Brown grab his first top 10 here.

BJ McLeod #90 ($6,700)

Starting 39th

Let's open up the value menu!

McLeod is in the 90 this week. The 90 has DNFed three races in a row, which is probably why the team asked McLeod to drive: they need someone who can get them a reliable finish.

Only once this year has the 90 finished outside of the top 30 in a race where the car was running at the finish. McLeod was 26th in the first Darlington race here, the only time he's driven the 90 this season.

There's not unlimited upside, but McLeod stands a good chance of gaining over 15 spots on race day. That makes him a solid play.

Colin Garrett #26 ($6,500)

Starting 31st

Oh, wow. I love this price.

Garrett has run three races in this Sam Hunt Racing car this year, with a pair of top 20s and a crash at Daytona. Garrett is a solid driver.

He finished 37th last year at Darlington, but that's misleading, as there was a brake issue on the car. He'd been moving up through the field before that issue happened.

Mechanical issues could always bite this team, but the 26 has speed and Garrett can keep a car clean. Like McLeod, Garrett can gain 15 spots on race day. The difference is that Garrett could end up gaining 20 or so spots on Saturday.
