MLB DFS Picks Today: Daily Fantasy Baseball Strategy and Tips For FanDuel, DraftKings (4/23/25)

Chris's top DraftKings and FanDuel MLB DFS picks for today, Wednesday, 4/23/25. His favorite daily fantasy baseball lineup sleepers and value picks for DFS on DraftKings and FanDuel.

We’ve got a juicy slate with all 30 teams in action, but we’re zeroing in on the 8-game main slate on DraftKings (7:00 PM ET) and the 10-game main slate on FanDuel (6:45 PM ET) with today's article.

The pitching landscape is loaded with high-upside arms like Freddy Peralta and Logan Webb, but there are also some sneaky value plays to consider, too. On the hitting side, we’ve got favorable matchups and a few hitter-friendly parks to exploit as well.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 4/23/2025, with the slate starting at 7:00 p.m. EDT on DK and 6:45 p.m. on FD. DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Freddy Peralta - MIL - SP ($9.8K DK; $10.2K FD)

Peralta is the cream of the crop on this slate, facing a Giants lineup that struggles against right-handers. His 28.2 K percentage vs. RHB and 27.4 K percentage vs. LHB make him a strikeout machine. He gets the benefit of pitching at Oracle Park today, one of the most pitcher-friendly venues in baseball, which further tilts the scales in his favor by suppressing home runs and extra-base hits.

The Giants’ lineup features strikeout-prone hitters like Tyler Fitzgerald (31.0 percent K percentage vs. RHP) and Heliot Ramos (26.4 percent K percentage vs. RHP), which boosts Peralta’s upside.

Dating back to last season, Peralta’s last six starts show a 29.9 percent K percentage, and he’s averaging 21.2 DK points per outing. Peralta is the safest and highest-upside arm on the slate. Use him as your SP1 in DraftKings GPPs and a cash game anchor on FanDuel.

David Festa - MIN - SP ($8.8K DK; $8.4K FD)

David Festa is a rising star who offers a perfect blend of value and upside, especially against the Chicago White Sox, one of the weakest offenses in baseball. The White Sox rank near the bottom in xwOBA (.291) and ISO (.107) against right-handed pitchers, and their 23.0 K percentage vs. RHP makes them vulnerable to Festa’s strikeout-heavy approach.

Festa’s 27.6 percent K percentage over his last six starts, averaging 14.77 DK points per game, highlights his ability to pile up whiffs. Target Field’s neutral park factors create a stable environment for him to thrive tonight. Festa is a cash game pivot on FanDuel and a strong GPP option on DraftKings.

Matthew Boyd - CHC - SP ($8K DK; $8.8K FD)

Matthew Boyd is a sneaky value play who brings GPP upside against a Los Angeles Dodgers lineup that, while elite, has exploitable weaknesses against left-handed pitchers. Boyd’s 25.5 K percentage vs. RHB and 14.7 DK points per start make him a viable tournament option, particularly at his price point. The Dodgers’ sixth-worst .020 batting average and .296 wOBA and 87 WRC+ vs. LHP is surprising to say the least.

Boyd is a GPP play on DraftKings for his value and upside, and a cash game consideration on FanDuel for his price and strikeout potential.

Also Consider: Taj Bradley - TB - SP ($8.5K DK; $9.5K FD)

Bradley’s 25.0 K percentage in his last six starts and matchup against a Diamondbacks team with a 21.1 K percentage vs. RHP make him a high-upside GPP play, especially at Chase Field.

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. - TOR - 1B ($4.8K DK; $3K FD)

Guerrero is a stud against right-handers, and Ryan Gusto’s shaky 8.3 K percentage vs. LHB gives Vladdy a chance to shine. His .418 xwOBA and .206 ISO vs. RHP are elite, and Minute Maid Park’s hitter-friendly dimensions boost his home run potential. On FanDuel, his $3,000 price is a steal for cash games, while DraftKings players can use him in GPPs for his multi-hit upside.

Oneil Cruz - PIT - SS/OF ($5.8K DK; $3.8K FD)

Cruz is a power-speed threat facing Jack Kochanowicz, who struggles with a 9.0 K percentage vs. LHB. Cruz’s .287 xHR and .371 xwOBA vs. RHP make him a GPP darling, especially at Angel Stadium, which plays neutral for power. His DraftKings price is a bit steep, but his FanDuel salary makes him a core cash game play.

Bobby Witt Jr. - KC - SS ($6.1K DK; $4K FD)

Witt is a premium play against German Marquez, who’s been shelled with a .401 wOBA vs. LHB. Witt’s .407 xwOBA and .262 ISO vs. RHP scream upside, and Kauffman Stadium’s weather could favor hitters if the wind picks up. He’s a cash game lock on FanDuel and a GPP staple on DraftKings for his five-category potential.

Also Consider: Shohei Ohtani - LAD - 1B/OF ($6.5K DK; $4.3K FD) and Mookie Betts - LAD - OF/2B/SS ($5.9K DK; $3.9K FD):

The Dodgers’ top dogs are great GPP plays against Boyd, with Ohtani’s .388 xwOBA vs. LHP and Betts’ .372 xwOBA vs. LHP offering massive ceiling at Wrigley Field.

 

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Yordan Alvarez - HOU - OF ($5.1K DK; $3.3K FD)

Alvarez is a monster against righties like Bowden Francis, boasting a .414 xwOBA and .304 xHR vs. RHP. Francis’ .295 wOBA vs. LHB isn’t terrible, but Alvarez’s power is matchup-proof. Minute Maid Park’s short porch in right field boosts his home run odds. He’s a cash game staple on FanDuel and a GPP priority on DraftKings.

Corbin Carroll - ARI - OF ($6.3K DK; $4.4K FD)

Carroll’s speed and power combo make him a great play against Bradley, who allows a .323 wOBA vs. LHB. Carroll’s .347 xwOBA and .235 ISO vs. RHP, paired with Chase Field’s hitter-friendly setup, give him multi-hit and stolen base upside. He’s a cash game fit on FanDuel and a GPP pivot on DraftKings.

Kyle Tucker - CHC - OF ($6.4K DK; $4.5K FD)

We are paying up in the outfield again here with the Cubs' Tucker. He's in a great spot tonight facing Matt Sauer, who’s been atrocious with a .435 wOBA vs. LHB. Tucker’s .436 xwOBA and .339 ISO vs. RHP make him a home run threat at Wrigley. His FanDuel price is a no-brainer for cash games, while DraftKings players can stack him in GPPs for his upside.

Also Consider:

Christian Yelich - MIL - OF ($4.8K DK; $3.6K FD) and Jackson Chourio - MIL - OF ($5.4K DK; $3.8K FD):

The Brewers’ outfielders are sneaky plays against Webb, with Yelich’s .391 xwOBA vs. RHP and Chourio’s .327 xwOBA offering value at Oracle Park. Yelich has always hit sinkerball pitchers well and is heating up as he smoked a grand slam last night, as the Brewers hung 11 runs on the Giants in game one of this series.
