MLB DFS: DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (5/1/24) - Today's Top Lineups

kyle tucker fantasy baseball rankings MLB news draft sleepers DFS lineup picks

The top MLB DFS daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel, DraftKings on May 1, 2024. Mike Barner's MLB DFS sleepers picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

Wednesday brings a lot of day games across baseball. However, there are still seven games that will make up the main evening slates on DraftKings and FanDuel.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 5/1/2024, with the slate starting at 6:35 p.m. EDT. The lineup picks will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is also essential.

Good luck, RotoBallers!

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Shota Imanaga at Mets ($9,800 DraftKings; $11,300 FanDuel)

Things could not have started off much better for Imanaga in the majors. He hasn’t allowed more than two earned runs in any of his five starts, producing a 0.80 WHIP along the way. He also has 28 strikeouts across 27.2 innings. The Mets only have a .639 OPS at home, making Imanaga worth deploying in DFS.

Corbin Burnes vs. Yankees ($9,400 DraftKings; $10,600 FanDuel)

The Yankees have scored a total of two runs over the first two games of this series. They can beat up on bad pitching, but Burnes certainly doesn’t slot into that category. He has taken over as the ace of the Orioles, recording a 2.55 ERA and a 3.70 FIP over his first six starts. With how the Yankees have looked at the plate in this series, scoring runs against Burnes will be a tall order.

Kutter Crawford vs. Giants ($8,600 DraftKings; $9,700 FanDuel)

Crawford has been terrific out of the gate, posting a 1.35 ERA and a 2.20 FIP. He has yet to allow a home run over 33.1 innings. That can be somewhat attributed to his 26.1 percent hard-hit rate allowed. This matchup would be even more favorable for him if the Red Sox were facing the Giants in San Francisco, but with the improvements that Crawford has made, he is still an appealing option at Fenway Park. In total, the Giants have scored the eighth-fewest runs in baseball.

Also consider: Justin Verlander vs. CLE

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Jose Altuve – 2B, HOU vs. Triston McKenzie ($5,700 DK; $4,000 FD)

McKenzie hasn’t fooled many hitters on his way to a 4.91 ERA through five starts. His FIP has been even worse at 5.61, while his WHIP checks in at 1.68. He only has a 17.6 percent strikeout rate, compared to a 16.7 percent walk rate. This is a great spot to roll with Altuve, who has burst out of the gate with a .252 ISO and a .439 wOBA.

Corey Seager – SS, TEX vs. Trevor Williams ($5,500 DK; $3,400 FD)

It’s not often that we see Seager in a slump. However, he has been cold out of the gate, batting .236 with just two home runs. His recovery from hernia surgery forced him to miss some of spring training, so that might be part of the reason for his struggles. Still, he is one of the most dangerous hitters in baseball, and he has a great matchup against Williams, who has allowed a wOBA of at least .371 to left-handed hitters in both of the last two seasons.

Trey Lipscomb – 3B, WAS vs. Andrew Heaney ($3,100 DK; $2,800 FD)

It has been a quick rise to the majors for Lipscomb, who was selected in the third round of the 2022 Draft. He generally does a good job of making contact, posting a strikeout rate of 19.8 percent or lower in both of his first two seasons in the minors. While he doesn’t bring a ton of power to the plate, he has stolen five bases this season. At his cheap salary, he might be worth considering in tournament play against Heaney, who has a 6.26 ERA and a 5.64 FIP over his first five starts.

Also consider: Rafael Devers, CJ Abrams, Luis Arraez

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Kyle Tucker – OF, HOU vs. Triston McKenzie ($5,900 DK; $4,000 FD)

Tucker has shown an excellent eye at the plate, posting a 15.9 percent strikeout rate and a 15.2 percent walk rate. He also continues to hit for power, recording a .255 ISO. With how hittable McKenzie has been in his return from injury last season, Tucker is a prime option to build an Astros stack around.

Tyler O'Neill - OF, BOS vs. Daulton Jefferies ($5,500 DK; $3,400 FD)

The Giants are running out of healthy starting pitchers. They are expected to call up Jefferies to make this start against the Red Sox. He started against the Padres in March, getting torched for nine runs (five earned) across two innings. This is a great matchup to deploy O'Neill, who has a .373 ISO and a .475 wOBA for the season.

Jesus Sanchez - OF, MIA vs. Dakota Hudson ($3,300 DK; $2,600 FD)

Hudson has been a disaster for the Rockies, recording a 1.78 WHIP through his first five starts. He also has just 15 strikeouts over 24.2 innings. His inability to keep hitters off base is nothing new, given his career 1.41 WHIP. The Marlins should be a popular team to stack, with Sanchez being someone with a cheap salary to target. Although he is off to a slow start with a .229 batting average and a .086 ISO, his 9.8 percent barrel rate and 54.9 percent hard-hit rate are good indications that he could bust out of his slump sooner rather than later.

Also consider: Yordan Alvarez, Jazz Chisholm Jr., Jarren Duran
