Matt Miller dives into his top longshot bets for the 2026 Charles Schwab Challenge sleeper plays, value bets, and under-the-radar golf betting insights.
Welcome to my weekly longshots article! The purpose of this piece is to identify players further down the board who are low-risk, high-reward wagers. For purposes of this article, I am considering longshots to be players over 100-1 on the odds list.
The wagers listed below might have playability in various sectors of the market. Please search your shops to see if you can find anything enticing.
If you have any additional questions for me, you can find me on X @MattyMillz85. I am always more than happy to answer any questions you might have. Also, stay tuned for additional announcements from me here in 2026. Big things are on the way!

Austin Eckroat (100-1 FanDuel)
After a poor start to the 2026 season, Austin Eckroat has found some form. The 27-year-old has two top 20 finishes in his last three individual starts, as well as a T6 finish at the Zurich Classic. Between the play trending in the right direction and the big upside, I was frankly surprised to see Eckroat at triple digits this week on the odds board.
Despite marginally losing strokes on approach last week, Eckroat has been hitting his irons well as of late. The Oklahoma State product had gained strokes on approach in eight straight events prior to last week. He has also now gained strokes putting in four of his last five starts.
Austin Eckroat and Davis Thompson were teammates on that victorious 2021 Walker Cup team at Seminole.
Thompson actually teamed with Cole Hammer in the opening foursomes that week to beat Barclay Brown and Alex Fitzpatrick, the latter of whom had gone 2-2 at the 2019 Walker Cup… pic.twitter.com/pz4D34QpgP

Another thing I love about Eckroat is that he is a proven PGA Tour winner. At just 27 years of age, Eckroat has already won twice on the PGA Tour. If he finds himself in contention over the weekend, I have faith that he'll be able to close out the tournament.
Haotong Li (105-1 DraftKings)
After a red-hot start to 2026, Haotong Li cooled off a ton, missing seven cuts in nine starts. Despite the rocky few months, the 30-year-old appears to have found something in his game again the last two weeks.
Meanwhile, checking in on Haotong Li ...

Li hit the ball extremely well on approach at the PGA Championship, finishing 15th in the field on approach for the week. He then followed that up with another good approach week at the CJ Cup last week. This bodes well for Li, who is the type of player who goes on hot stretches with his irons. He had back-to-back top 11 finishes earlier in the season when his irons were clicking.
Despite not winning on the PGA Tour yet, Haotong has won four times on the DP World Tour. While being an extreme boom or bust candidate, Li has the upside to get across the finish line.
Luke Clanton (250-1 FanDuel)
Despite high hopes coming into 2026, it's hard to sell the year to date as anything but a large disappointment for Luke Clanton. The 22-year-old burst onto the PGA Tour scene an immediately started contending. He then returned back to college and racked up three wins immediately.
While the fast track to stardom once officially turning pro hasn't necessarily played out the way many thought, Clanton is quietly starting to round back into form. He led the field on approach in Myrtle Beach three weeks ago and followed that performance up with another strong approach week last week at the Byron Nelson, finishing 17th on the week in that stat category.
Sometimes all it takes is a few good weeks to get the confidence going again. At just 22-years-old, the talent and upside for Claton are undeniable. If we're at the beginning of another strong run, this type of value won't last long.
