ANALYSIS: After holding three of the best offenses in baseball (Baltimore, Cincinnati, and Philadelphia) to just 1 combined run in 16 innings, Cardinals starting pitcher Lance Lynn, has struggled in his latest back-to-back outings against the less offensively inclined Rockies and Pirates, allowing seven runs and five walks for a 7.56 ERA.

Lynn lines up for a two-start week, Tuesday on the road against the Miami Marlins and back at home on Sunday versus the San Francisco Giants.
He has been solid this season, pitching to a 3.75 ERA with 68 Ks in 69.2 innings, however, it appears father time is closing in on the 37-year-old. Normally known for his ability to go deep into games, Lynn has only exceeded five innings in a start three times this year which has hampered his win total, netting only two victories while the Cardinals have won eight of his 14 starts.
With two, sub-.500 opponents on the docket this week, Lynn is a recommended start for those who need a pitching boost, and facing MLB's second-worst team in Miami is usually a good way to start turning things around.
