ANALYSIS: Josh Downs is a name to monitor on the waiver wire moving forward.
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Josh Downs returned to action in Sunday’s matchup against the Chicago Bears. Although the Colts secured the win, it was a tough day for Anthony Richardson and the passing game, which totaled just 167 yards through the air.
Downs hauled in three receptions on five targets for 22 yards, resulting in 5.2 PPR fantasy points.

Hard to get excited about an Anthony Richardson receiver but Downs appears locked into a role.

The encouraging news for Downs is his involvement in the offense. He played 32 out of 41 snaps in 11 personnel and lined up in the slot 90% of the time, signaling that he's the team's lead slot receiver. Despite it being his first game, Downs led the team with five targets, indicating he has earned Richardson’s trust.
Given his potential to be the Colts' most targeted receiver, Downs is worth monitoring, especially in deeper leagues. While adding him could pay off, investing too heavily in the Colts' passing game remains a risky move at this point.
