Jordan Mason, Alvin Kamara, Breece Hall: Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Picks for Fantasy Football Week 10

Should I start Jordan Mason, Alvin Kamara, Breece Hall for Week 10? Fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks and recommendations for the 2025 NFL season.

The fantasy football season makes the turn and heads for home in Week 10, and as we start the back nine of the regular season, every lineup decision is critical to setting your fantasy football team up for success. Running back is always a critical spot, and some veteran backs have had inconsistent seasons to this point, making them hard to trust but still with good upside coming into this weekend's action.

In this article, we will see if fringe starters Jordan Mason, Alvin Kamara, and Breece Hall should be started in fantasy in Week 10. All three running backs have had big games, but also have had a few letdowns this year.

So, should fantasy managers start Mason, Kamara, or Hall in Week 10? Let's dive in and find out.

Editor's Note: The FFPC Baby Gorilla Tournament is now open, featuring a $100,000 grand prize and a $675,450 total prize pool! This 12-team, Tight End Premium contest uses a 20-round draft format, with the overall winners determined by total points scored during Weeks 15–17. Should I Start Jordan Mason for Fantasy Football?

Jordan Mason's value this week is closely linked to the availability of Aaron Jones Sr., who is questionable with a shoulder injury. According to Jeremy Fowler, Jones is expected to play despite his issue, which will likely mean that Mason is locked in a timeshare.

In Week 8, Mason played only 35% of snaps while Jones returned from IR and played 53% of snaps, but in Week 9, Mason returned to the majority of the work, playing 60% of snaps while Jones played 42% of snaps. It looks like a pretty even timeshare with both players healthy.

Mason has shown upside and durability, scoring four touchdowns while taking 98 carries for 419 yards on the season. His best game was a 116-yard performance with a pair of touchdowns against the Bengals in Week 3. He can be an effective power back and find the end zone when he gets opportunities, although there is a risk that either Jones or QB J.J. McCarthy could vulture touchdowns from him this week.

Mason is a boom or bust play that needs to get into the end zone to really pay off, since he usually isn't very involved in the passing game.

He's the RB32 in RotoBaller's rankings, making him a high-risk RB3 or flex play in most standard-sized formats this week. He can be used if you're stretched thin at the position by bye weeks, but he's far from a locked-in starter.

Should I Start Alvin Kamara for Fantasy Football?

It was really just over a year ago that Kamara did this:

Crazy how fast life as an NFL running back can come at you. This year, Kamara has only produced 377 rushing yards on 106 carries while adding 28 catches for 150 receiving yards. He only had six carries in each of the last two weeks, and he hasn't run for more than 35 yards in any of his last five games.

Kamara did find the end zone in Week 1, but hasn't been back to paydirt in the eight games since then. As he has been for the last few weeks, he's listed as questionable for this week with an ankle injury. He'll need to play through the injury in a tough matchup against the Panthers at home to deliver any fantasy value this week.

While his numbers this year haven't been stellar, he's only one of five running backs in history with 600 career receptions and was also the first player in NFL history to have 600+ catches & 600+ rushes for one team in their career. While there's no arguing Kamara's place in history, he isn't a great option this week.

Kamara does bring PPR potential, but he's still only the RB26 this week. He can be a desperation flex or RB3 play, but he isn't one of the best options available and is definitely no longer a "must start" play like he has been for the last few years.

Should I Start Breece Hall for Fantasy Football?

Breece Hall is in a very unique place this week since he made it clear he wanted to be traded away from the Jets to a contender, but he wasn't moved at the deadline, even though many of his other teammates were dealt away. His motivation could be questioned coming into the week, but he still brings a very high ceiling since he's such a dynamic talent.

Hall showed his upside with a massive game in Week 8's win over the Bengals. He took 18 carries for 133 yards and two touchdowns and also threw for a third score, which ultimately proved to be the game-winner over the Bengals.

Hall also ran for 100 yards against the Cowboys in Week 5 and totaled over 100 rushing and receiving yards against the Dolphins in Week 4.

The overall struggles of the offense, specifically Justin  Fields, have made him inconsistent this year. He hadn't scored a touchdown until Week 8's explosion, but his production has been there to make him a decent play in other games since he is the focus of the offense and gets multiple receptions as a workhorse back most weeks.

Of the three backs in this post, Hall definitely has the highest floor and the highest ceiling. He's the RB16 in RotoBaller's Week 10 rankings, which means he's a solid starter this week even though he's in a tough matchup against the Browns.
