ANALYSIS: Dalton Schultz is history, and Ferguson’s fantasy value is a mystery, yet Dak Prescott’s new top tight end had his moments on Sunday Night Football against the New York Giants.
Ferguson was not able to muster much (11 yards), but he was targeted a team-best seven times. He will not put up Schultz-like numbers this year but do not be surprised if Ferguson becomes a Prescott favorite over time.
In deep PPR formats, he should have plenty of value moving forward, especially when the Cowboys are forced to pass rather than playing from ahead for the entire game. He will face a tough matchup against the stout New York Jets defense in Week 2.
