New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson has had some poor success in his first three years in the NFL. The former second-overall pick has made 24 career starts, with an 8-16 record.
His greatest accomplishment to date in the NFL has been being honored three times as the Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Week.
Back in 2021, he was the second of five quarterbacks taken in the first round and the highest drafted from BYU. Unfortunately, the BYU product has yet to replicate any of the success he had back in college.

Is Zach Wilson Still The Jets Starting Quarterback?
Heading into Week 4, the New York Jets host the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football. Zach Wilson has been confirmed as the starter for this game, however, it seems this move could cost Robert Saleh the "risk of losing the locker room."
During the offseason, the Jets made moves to acquire the 4-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers to lead this team. However, after just his fourth offensive snap with his new team, his season ended abruptly. Remember, the Jets made the executive decision in the offseason to keep Wilson on the roster as the backup instead of QB Mike White, who took over as the starter last season in their Week 12 matchup against the Chicago Bears.
This will not be the first time the Jets fanbase has been disappointed with Zach Wilson's performance. Surprisingly, even legendary quarterback Joe Namath had some choice words for the New York Jets organization, not only critiquing Zach Wilson but also questioning the team from top to bottom.
New York Jets QB 2023 Fantasy Outlook
While the short-term solution at quarterback is Zach Wilson, this situation could change quickly with tensions rising. The New York Jets (1-2) are currently +9.5 underdogs against the reigning Super Bowl champions. Another loss after all the offseason hype and Hard Knocks media coverage could send this fanbase into a frenzy.
The Jets seem to have a contingency plan in place, signing veteran Trevor Siemian to the practice squad. This move shouldn't rule out the Jets from exploring a trade or signing another veteran QB to the roster or practice squad this season if they so wish.
Fantasy owners of any Jets player should worry, if they haven't already, about the status of the starting quarterback. While they have an excellent set of young weapons on offense, including Offensive Rookie of the Year Garrett Wilson, the team starts and ends with the success of their quarterback.
In 2022, Mike White averaged 15.1 fantasy points per game while Zach Wilson averaged 11.7. To put this more into perspective, Garrett Wilson averaged only 7.9 FPPG with Wilson under center as opposed to 17.3 FPPG with White under center (in PPR format).
New York struggled offensively last year with Wilson under center, and continues to do so this year. He may be starting Week 4, however, expect Wilson's tenure in NY to soon come to an end.
