Heliot Ramos is a top fantasy baseball waiver wire pickup for Week 12 (2024). Fantasy baseball managers should add Ramos as a waiver wire free agent in most leagues.

ANALYSIS: Heliot Ramos was a first-round draft pick of the Giants back in 2017, working his way to the majors by 2022 at the age of 22. In his limited action between 2022 and 2023, he was only able to muster a .158/.220/.250 slashline with just one home run in 76 at-bats. After starting out the 2024 season at Triple-A with a .296/.388/.565 line and eight home runs, San Francisco called him up to the majors.
Ramos has been able to ride his hot hitting at the big league level, posting a .320/.416/.515 line with a .406 wOBA and 170 wRC+ over 27 games (113 PA). The 24-year-old has belted five home runs and tallied 20 RBI, 12 runs scored, and a stolen base thus far. He's shown a good eye at the plate, posting a 13.3% BB%, although the 30.1% K% is still a bit concerning, as is a sky-high .448 BABIP. The barrel rate of 14.3% reinforces his power output, though, and we can expect more long balls from the slugger.

Ramos was once the Giants' top-rated prospect (2018) and remained among the top-3 until 2022 when he dropped to sixth, but it seems he's finally put it all together. Hopefully he can keep it up and live up to his once-heralded status. Managers in need of a hot outfield bat should consider Ramos in deeper 12-team leagues. The right-handed hitter is available in 60% of Yahoo leagues.
