Kenneth Walker III - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Fantasy football RB injury updates and reports for Week 17 (2023), as of 12/30, including Josh Jacobs, Kenneth Walker III, Alvin Kamara, and Brian Robinson Jr.

Below you will find our fantasy football injuries report for running backs in Week 17, as of December 30. The injury statuses for various NFL running backs are up in the air for Week 17, including Josh Jacobs, Kenneth Walker III, Alvin Kamara, and Brian Robinson Jr.

As the fantasy football playoffs continue, every decision, transaction, and lineup change matters. These are critical running back injuries to keep track of throughout the week. Being up-to-date on NFL injury news can give you an edge over your league mates in fantasy football.

To keep close tabs on all of the news across the NFL, make sure to favorite or bookmark the fantasy football player news page, or download the free RotoBaller fantasy football mobile app with push notification alerts on all the latest news. Let's look at the updates for some running backs and see whether they may play in Week 17.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Josh Jacobs Injury Update

Jacobs (quad) missed all three practices this past week and has officially been listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Colts. At this point, it's hard to envision a scenario where he plays. With their star running back sidelined for the third consecutive game, the Raiders will turn to Zamir White once again. He has 214 rushing yards and one touchdown over his last two games, keeping him in the low-end RB2 tier for fantasy football.

Kenneth Walker III Injury Update

Walker (shoulder, illness) returned to practice in a limited capacity on Friday and is officially questionable to face the Steelers this week. The good news is that Walker did practice on Friday, but the bad news is that he was merely limited after missing the two previous days entirely. The second-year playmaker should be viewed as a solid fantasy RB2, but only if active. Managers might not get confirmation on his status until 90 minutes before kickoff Sunday.

Alvin Kamara Injury Update

Kamara (illness) was added to the injury report after missing Friday's practice. He's officially questionable to face the Buccaneers in Week 17, igniting some chaos at the running back position. Kamara consistently ranks as a low-end RB1 for fantasy purposes, so his availability this weekend will be key for managers competing in their championships. In the event that he can't suit up, Jamaal Williams would operate as the Saints' lead back while ranking as an RB3 or FLEX option in most fantasy leagues.

Brian Robinson Jr. Injury Update

Robinson (hamstring) was limited in practice all week long. He was removed from the injury report and will play on Sunday, barring a major setback. The 23-year-old returns from his two-game absence at the perfect time after Washington placed its leading rusher from the last two weeks, Chris Rodriguez Jr. (ankle), on season-ending injured reserve. Robinson is normally a fantasy RB2 but will drop to the RB3 or FLEX tier with a tough matchup in his first game back.

Saquon Barkley Injury Update

Barkley (elbow) has logged back-to-back full practices and does not carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Rams. He will be active, ranking as a low-end RB1 in most fantasy leagues. The Giants' playmaker should be started in all leagues as fantasy football championship week rolls on.

Raheem Mostert Injury Update

After missing two consecutive practices, Mostert (knee, ankle) returned in a limited capacity on Friday. He is officially questionable to face the Ravens in Week 17. Having Mostert available would be huge for the Dolphins, who have benefitted first-hand from his speed and nose for the end zone. Even at 31 years of age, he has 21 touchdowns and ranks as this season's fantasy RB2 behind only Christian McCaffrey. Managers should start Mostert in all leagues if he's active.

Joe Mixon Injury Update

Mixon (ankle) was added to the injury report after logging a limited practice on Friday. The good news is that Mixon does not have an injury designation, so he'll suit up in Week 17 as long as he doesn't suffer any sort of setback before kickoff. The 27-year-old remains a high-end RB2 option in most fantasy leagues.

Isiah Pacheco Injury Update

After missing two days of practice, Pacheco (concussion, shoulder) returned in a limited capacity on Friday. He is officially questionable to face the Bengals on Sunday, and it's starting to look like he could be a true game-time decision. If confirmed as active on Sunday morning, Pacheco would rank as a steady RB2 option throughout fantasy football.

Aaron Jones Injury Update

Jones (knee, finger) was limited in practice all week long. However, he has been removed from the Packers' final injury report and will suit up on Sunday versus the Vikings. Green Bay's veteran back has made frequent appearances on the injury report as the team looks to keep him healthy deep into his age-29 season. He's a solid RB2 option in most fantasy leagues.

Najee Harris Injury Update

Harris (knee) logged a full practice on Friday and will suit up against the Seahawks in Week 17. Despite operating in tandem with Jaylen Warren, the former first-round pick should be viewed as a steady RB3 option in most fantasy leagues.

Chuba Hubbard Injury Update

Hubbard (hamstring) upgraded to a full participant in practice on Friday. He has been removed from the injury report and will suit up against the Jaguars, barring any sort of major setback. The 24-year-old is averaging 22.8 carries per game over the last four weeks, demonstrating the Panthers' clear desire to get him the football. Hubbard could feast as a solid fantasy RB2 versus Jacksonville's mediocre defense.

Ezekiel Elliott Injury Update

Elliott (illness) missed practice on Thursday but was otherwise a full-go this entire week. He has been removed from the Patriots' injury report and will suit up against the Bills. With Rhamondre Stevenson (ankle) done for the year, Elliott has emerged as one of New England's top performers on offense. Beyond solid results in the rushing attack, the veteran has 25 catches, 166 yards, and two touchdowns over his last four contests. Deploy him as a steady RB2 option in most fantasy leagues, especially PPR formats.

De'Von Achane Injury Update

Achane (toe) has made progress every day this week, shifting from a non-participant in practice to a full participant over the course of just a few days. Miami's rookie running back has been removed from the injury report and will play versus the Ravens. There's also a slight chance that he could draw the start if Raheem Mostert (knee, ankle) is inactive, though confirmation on such a matter likely won't come until 90 minutes before kickoff.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire Injury Update

Edwards-Helaire (illness) has missed back-to-back practices and is officially questionable to play against the Bengals in Week 17. Illnesses appear to be going around the NFL and Edwards-Helaire is no exception. The former LSU star's fantasy value this week depends on whether Pacheco (concussion, shoulder) plays. If Pacheco is ruled out, Edwards-Helaire (assuming he's active) will sneak onto the radar as an RB3.

AJ Dillon Injury Update

Dillon (thumb) was limited in practice all week long but has been removed from the Packers' final injury report. He will suit up against the Vikings this weekend, ranking as a fantasy RB4 while operating as the backup to Jones.

Chris Rodriguez Jr. Injury Update

Rodriguez (ankle) has been placed on season-ending injured reserve. Injury news is never good, but fantasy managers invested in the Washington backfield can at least breathe a sigh of relief knowing that Brian Robinson Jr. is back and poised for a strong showing in Week 17.

Alexander Mattison Injury Update

Mattison (ankle) upgraded to a full participant on Friday and has been removed from the final injury report. He will suit up in Week 17 but lacks fantasy appeal, especially after rushing just two times for a loss of one yard last week. Ty Chandler remains the Minnesota running back worth rostering in fantasy football.

Rico Dowdle Injury Update

Dowdle (ankle) saw his status worsen over the week as he missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday. As a result, he has been ruled out for this week's Saturday night clash. This news should vault Deuce Vaughn to the temporary No. 2 running back role in Week 17, though the rookie remains off fantasy radars.

Zack Moss Injury Update

Moss (forearm) missed practice on Friday, which was a step in the wrong direction after he had been limited the two days prior. Indeed, the 26-year-old has been ruled out heading into Sunday's clash. Indianapolis will deploy Jonathan Taylor as its lead back while Tyler Goodson and Trey Sermon occupy depth slots.

Elijah Mitchell Injury Update

Mitchell (knee) has missed three consecutive games but will return on Sunday after logging a full week of practice. Should San Francisco take an excessively large lead over Washington, Mitchell might earn some snaps as the team looks to preserve the health of Brock Purdy, Christian McCaffrey, and other playmakers. Nevertheless, Mitchell is too tough to trust at the moment, keeping him off the fantasy radar in all leagues.

Jordan Mason Injury Update

Mason (illness) has now missed back-to-back practices and is officially questionable to play against the Commanders on Sunday. As was the case with Mitchell, Mason is certainly capable of breaking off a big run but ultimately lacks fantasy appeal in nearly every league.

Emanuel Wilson Injury Update

Wilson (shoulder) was a full participant in practice this week. However, he is listed as doubtful to play on Sunday, which is a sign that the Packers don't intend to activate him prior to kickoff. Jones and Dillon will lead the Green Bay backfield while Patrick Taylor also possesses a depth role.

Kendre Miller Injury Update

Miller (ankle) was limited in practice all week long. He is officially questionable to play against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The rookie has six consecutive missed games but could fill a larger role immediately upon his return if Kamara (illness) is inactive or less than 100 percent.

Dwayne Washington Injury Update

Washington (illness) missed all three practices this week and is officially listed as questionable to play against the Chargers in Week 17. While injuries have easier timetables to project, illnesses can be very tough to evaluate and analyze. The Broncos are leaving the door open for this veteran special teamer to suit up, but fantasy managers can avoid him at all costs.

Ty Johnson Injury Update

Johnson (shoulder) upgraded to a full participant on Friday. He has been removed from the injury report and will play against New England in Week 17. The 26-year-old has 105 rushing yards, 53 receiving yards, and one touchdown this season but remains off the fantasy radar given his role behind James Cook and Latavius Murray.
