Vegas Golden Knights goaltender Akira Schmid stopped 24 shots in Tuesday's 1-0 win over the Detroit Red Wings, picking up his first shutout of the season. Led by Dylan Larkin, the Red Wings have been very productive offensively this season, but Schmid found answers to all their efforts on Tuesday night. The 25-year-old has been nearly unbeatable so far in 2025-26, going 6-1-0 in seven appearances. Schmid owns a 2.31 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage. Losing Adin Hill (lower body) early in the season was a blow for the Golden Knights, but they have received outstanding goaltending from Schmid, who holds a perfect 3-0-0 home record.--Taavi Pailk
