Pyotr Kochetkov Starts on Tuesday
Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov will make his season debut in Tuesday's clash against the New York Rangers. The Russian shot-stopper missed the beginning of the season due to a lower-body injury. Over the last few campaigns, Kochetkov has established himself as a reliable option in goal for Carolina and finished the 2024-25 season with a 27-16-3 record. He posted two shutouts while logging a 2.60 goals-against average with a .898 save percentage. Kochetkov is in a good spot to make a winning start to his 2025-26 campaign, as the Rangers average the second-fewest goals in the league (2.38).
