FanDuel MLB DFS Lineup Picks (4/27/21): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

Mark Strausberg highlights the top FanDuel MLB DFS lineup picks for 4/27/21, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

Welcome Rotoballers to another set of Tuesday FanDuel lineup picks! We have practically a full slate of games on the main slate tonight. If you have questions about the earlier two games in the six o'clock (EST) hour, feel free to hit me up on Twitter with questions (@MarkStrausberg). But the focus will be on the main slate.

Because this slate has the potential to be high-scoring. If your FD standard entry doesn't put up at least 200 points, I don't see you winning too much.

Read below to find out what player I do like, in providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for the FanDuel main slate on 4/20/2021. Be sure to also check out all the MLB player news, including late scratches, and the projected and confirmed daily MLB lineups for each DFS slate. You can also check out today's DraftKings MLB DFS lineup picks, and read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports too. With that out of the way, let's get t0 my winning picks!

FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Cash Game/GPP Anchor Play:

Lucas Giolito - CHW vs DET ($10,600)

There are a number of very intriguing cheaper options, but there's no need to pivot away from some of the studs taking the mound on Tuesday. And of those above the $9K range, no one has a better match-up than Giolito. Detroit has the fourth most strikeouts for starters. The Tigers get even more toothless as we look at their other stats. They are dead last in runs per game, batting average, and OPS. Currently, there is no better match-up for a pitcher than Detroit, making the Tigers are a team we want to target for our starting pitcher position.

And Giolito is a pretty good weapon to use. He's had a WHIP below 1.100 and an ERA below 3.50 each of the last two years. He has not been quite as good so far in 2021. However, Giolito currently sports a k/9 of 12.54, which is better than good enough for us to lock into our lineups as an option to tame the Tigers.

GPP Play

Cristian Javier, HOU vs SEA ($9,400)

I've been fading Javier so far this year, refusing to believe the hype. And it has been to my detriment. Of course we all know what happens when you suddenly jump on a player on you have been fading all year. So I'm a little worried. But the Javier hype is legit, because he just absolutely smoking....

Javier has a 1.32 ERA, .878 WHIP, and 20 strikeouts in less than 14 innings. I've changed my tune on Javier. Until he gets out of this rhythm, I'll be playing him as well.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Jared Walsh- 1B, LAA at TEX ($3,200)

Walsh is just too cheap given how well he is hitting this year. He already has 16 RBI, supported by his four dingers, and a .319 average giving him a .951 OPS so far in 2021. That kind of numbers are usually reserved for players with salaries over $4K. Grab the savings while you can.

Ozzie Albies - 2B/OF, ATL vs CHC ($3,000)

Albies seems to be coming out of his slump and if he steals a base again like he did last night, he will easily pay off at this soon to escalate salary.

Manny Machado - 3B, SDP at ARI ($3,300)

Yes, I decided to include Machado here because this Tweet made me smile:

Perhaps Machado needs help with how to wear eyewear, but he doesn't need much help in playing baseball. With three HRs and five SBs already, he is on pace for a 25/40 season, which last time I checked is pretty good. It's also worth noting that tonight he is going against Merrill Kelly and his 7.71 ERA in the dry Arizona air. I will probably be stacking Padres tonight and Machado is always a consideration for any Padre stack.

Fernando Tatis Jr. - SS,  SDP at ARI ($4,400)

But a Padre stack without Tatis is just stupid. Because Tatis is stooopid good. Yes, he's getting expensive. But there is no way to fade Tatis right now and feel good about it. I'm sure you know how good Tatis is, but the shortstop's stats against Kelly would make Cal Ripken look like Billy Ripken. In 12 at-bats against Kelly, Tatis is hitting .417 with three round-trippers. That's the kind of production we want when grabbing high salary options.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Dylan Carlson - OF, STL vs PHI ($2,900)

I am starting to run out of ways to gush about this kid. He's been moved up in the order. Maybe because he deserves it. He is hitting .292 with three HRs and .916 OPS.  Just play him, trust me.

Tyrone Taylor - OF, MIL vs MIA ($2,200)

We have to balance Tatis with some cheaper options and Taylor might be my favorite bargain bin option. Unfortunately, Taylor will not stay this cheap for long. Will he continue to hit .364 and with a 1.351 OPS? Of course not. But even a 30% drop still gives him some lofty numbers, worthy of a much higher salary. If Taylor is not on your radar yet, he needs to be.

Kevin Kiermaier- OF, TBR vs OAK ($2,500)

I like the left-handed Kiermaier going against the right-handed Frankie Montas and his 6.75 ERA tonight. Granted, Kiermaier is not sexy. He's not a .300+ hitter, he's not going to swat 20 homers, nor will he swipe 20. But he'll come close to all three. And with so much money spent on the infield for our Tuesday line-up, we need someone dependability for a relatively cheap price. He's had a hit in each of the last seven games he has started. Tuesday he will make it eight.
