FanDuel DFS - NFL Lineup Picks, Sleepers & Advice for Week 2

The first week of the NFL season was a bit crazy, and I'm sure every week from here on out will be the same. That's just the nature of the beast when it comes to football and fantasy sports.

In this article, my FanDuel DFS lineup targets, I will be headlining a few of my top plays on FanDuel for Week 2 of the daily fantasy football season.

These DFS lineup picks can range from the elite tier of players, to a few guys that I feel are a bit overpriced on FanDuel. Let's get to it!

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

FanDuel DFS Quarterbacks for Week 2

Drew Brees - QB, NO (vs TB, $8,900)

Last week, Marcus Mariota tore up the Bucs secondary for 209 yards and four touchdowns on only 16 attempts. Brees, who threw the ball 48 times last week, will draw the same favorable matchup against Tampa Bay in Week 2. The Saints will likely be more run-oriented this week and Brees likely won’t be attempting 48 passes, but he won’t need that many to be one of the top quarterbacks. Brees threw for 355 yards last week against a much tougher Cardinals defense, but he only threw one touchdown. He will likely be able to find the end zone a few times this week, and he’s a great play in all leagues.

Sam Bradford - QB, PHI (vs DAL, $7,500)

Bradford looked a little rattled in his first game of the season, but he did complete 36 passes on 52 attempts for 336 yards and one touchdown. He gets an average matchup against the Cowboys this week, and Bradford may have as much upside as any quarterback in the NFL. Everyone knows that Chip Kelly loves throwing the ball around, but the 52 attempts in a close game on Monday confirm our thoughts about his game plan. This game will likely stay close, which will give Bradford great upside if he is able find the end zone. His price will likely jump up next week, so use him while he’s cheap.

FanDuel DFS Running Backs for Week 2

Carlos Hyde - RB, SF (at PIT $7,000)

We all got a glimpse of what Carlos Hyde has to offer in his dominant performance on Monday Night Football. He carried the ball 26 times for 168 yards and two touchdowns, while also catching two passes for 14 yards. This week's prices were clearly released before the Monday night beat-down of the Vikings defense, and Hyde’s price just seems silly. He gets a great matchup against the Steelers, who allowed 4.6 yards per rush to Dion Lewis on Thursday night. Colin Kaepernick will also make the Steelers defense stay honest against the read option, which will help Hyde build on his huge performance. His price is going to skyrocket after this week, and you’d be wise to plug him into your lineups while you can.

Joseph Randle - RB, DAL (at PHI, $6,700)

Randle wasn’t all that impressive in his first game while carrying the ball 16 times for 65 yards and adding three receptions for 42 yards in the air. The good news for Randle is that Dez Bryant is now out with a fractured foot, and the Cowboys have said they would like to run the ball 30 times per game. Randle out-touched his “committee” partner, Darren McFadden, 16 to six on Sunday Night. If that is any indication of what is going to come, Randle will be the lead back with around 20 carries per game. That’s more than enough for him to hit value, especially if he can work his way into the end zone.

FanDuel DFS Wide Receivers for Week 2

Julio Jones - WR, ATL (at NYG, $8,800)

Jones is coming off a massive nine-reception, 141-yard, two-touchdown performance against the Eagles, but his game could have been even better. The Falcons threw multiple screens to Jones that were called back because of holding--his stat line may have looked closer to 13-180-2 if a few more things had gone his way. The Giants were able to hang with the Cowboys last week, and if they can keep this game close, the Falcons will get Jones the ball as often as they can. The Giants, or any team in the NFL for that matter, do not have anyone that is going to be able to slow Jones down. I’m expecting the Falcons to feed him receptions, and he’s my top receiver play of the week again.

James Jones - WR, GB (vs SEA, $5,400)

James Jones is back with the Packers and it looked like he did not miss a beat. He recorded four catches for 51 yards and two touchdowns, and he had another touchdown called back. He was the clear red zone target for the Packers, which is enough for him to be used at this price. Green Bay will likely have something to prove against the Seahawks after how last season ended, and Seattle didn’t look all that impressive against the Rams. I wouldn’t expect Jones to be catching multiple touchdowns each week, but as long as he’s cheap, he’s a great source of touchdown potential.

FanDuel DFS Tight Ends for Week 2

Rob Gronkowski - TE, NE (at BUF, 8,300)

Gronkowski gets a tough matchup against the Bills this week, but that doesn’t particularly bother me. He’s coming off a dominant game against the Steelers, in which he recorded five receptions for 94 yards and three touchdowns. The Bills nearly shut down the Colts last week, but Dwayne Allen was able to sneak a touchdown in. Gronk is clearly the preferred red zone target for the Patriots, and he makes a great play in all leagues.

Austin Seferian-Jenkins - TE, TB (at NO, $4,500)

I recommended ASJ last week, and I’m going back to the well for the Week 2. His price is extremely low, and he’s coming off a five-catch, 110-yard, two-touchdown performance. He already looks like one of Winston’s favorite targets, and he gets a good matchup against the Saints. Darren Fells was able to rip off four catches for 82 yards and a touchdown against New Orleans last week, and ASJ is a much more dangerous player than Fells. His price will likely sky-rocket after this week, so he’s another player you should get cheap now.
