FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (8/6/16): MLB DFS Advice

Chris Durell highlights the top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for 8/6/16. These are the top value and sleeper plays for your FanDuel MLB DFS lineups

Welcome back for some Saturday action in daily fantasy baseball. Today we have a mixed slate with four games in the afternoon and 11 in the evening. FanDuel has made it easy today with two options, All Day or Main slate. We are going to have to make some tough decisions today with three ace pitchers on the mound along with another matchup in Coors Field. It is possible to have your Coors and pitchers too but it will take some creativity and a few punt plays. I suggest plucking a few bats from the Coors game to go along with ace in cash games.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for FanDuel on 8/6/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on FanDuel. Let's take a look at some picks.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target for FanDuel

Baltimore Orioles vs. Carlos Rodon (White Sox)

The early Vegas lines show us the Orioles are road favorites in the second highest total(10.0) on the slate. They get a terrific matchup vs. Carlos Rodon who will be making his second start since returning from the disabled list with a wrist injury. He got beat up in his return allowing eight hits and five earned runs(2 HR) in 6.1 innings pitched. Your top options are going to be Manny Machado, Mark Trumbo, Adam Jones and Steve Pearce who crushes left handed pitching.

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Danny Duffy (Royals)

There are a few things that make the Jays a great stacking option today. First of all, they crush left handed pitching(.328 wOBA/.174 ISO) and this game has the fourth highest total on the slate with the Jays as -150 favorites. They could also come in low owned today as Duffy is coming off a huge 16 strikeout performance against the Rays. The bulk of their order(Bautista, Tulo, Martin, Donaldson) are in pay and have had success vs. Duffy in the past.

Also Consider: Colorado Rockies vs. Andrew Cashner (Marlins)

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for FanDuel

Stephen Strasburg (SP, WSH) $11,600

He has the best matchup of all the aces as the Nats come in as -240 home favorites. Strasburg has been elite this season with a 15-1 record and impressive 2.63 ERA that is backed up by a 3.16 xFIP. He has an elite K rate(10.84 K/9) which provides you with a nice floor for cash games and the combination of price and win potential give him the most upside on the slate.

Aaron Sanchez (SP, TOR) $9,200

The only part of Sanchez's game that hasn't been elite is his average 7.62 K/9 rate. He has picked up 11 wins in 21 starts and owns the leagues 8th best ERA(2.71) of starters with at lest 100 innings pitched. He also owns an elite 57.5% ground ball rate with his balanced four pitch arsenal being the key to his success. The part that stands out the most about this matchup is the fact the Jays are -150 favorites but Sanchez is cheaper than Duffy tonight. Take the value and load up on bats.

Also Consider: Corey Kluber (SP, CLE) $10,800

DFS Infielders to Consider for FanDuel

Jonathan Lucroy (C, TEX) $3,000

There is a lot to like about Lucroy right now. His salary has dropped to its lowest point in two weeks and since joining the Rangers he has picked up hits in two of his first three games including a home run. He is safe in all formats.

Miguel Cabrera (1B, DET) $3,900

Elite play at a discount from the other top options. He is one of the hottest players on the planet with a .432/.500/.932 slash lien over the last 14 days. He is an elite play in any format.

Daniel Murphy (2B, WSH) $4,100

Not just a to player at the position, but a top player overall. Over the last 30 days he leads baseball with a shocking .511 wOBA with a RBI in 17 of his last 19 games. He gets a nice home matchup vs. Matt Cain who has been below average this season with a low strikeout rate(6.56 K/9), high walk rate(3.09 BB/9) and awful 5.04 xFIP.

Troy Tulowitzki (SS, TOR) $3,100

The best part about Tulo today is not the price but rather the opportunity. He should be low owned in tournaments as Duffy is coming off a 16 strikeout effort vs. the Rays. Tulo has positive splits vs. left handed pitching and has two hits in six at bats including a home run.

Nolan Arenado (3B, COL) $4,400

He is having another monster season with a .283./351/.557 slash line and will be in a great spot once again in a home game in Coors Field. He will face Andrew Cashner who should see an increase in his already bad 15.7% HR/FB rate. Arenado has recorded seven hits in 20 career at bats vs . Cashner.

DFS Outfielders to Consider for FanDuel

Mookie Betts (OF, BOS) $4,500

The Rockies bats are pretty obvious anytime they are at home which usually brings down the ownership of Betts. He has been on fire lately with hit sin nine of his last 10 games with seven of them being double digit FanDuel point outings. Betts gives us a high floor and hufe upside with his elite combination of power and speed.

J.D. Martinez (OF, DET) $3,700

Martinez has picked up right where he left off before going on the disabled list for six weeks. He has recorded a hit in all three games with two doubles and a home run and gets another favorable matchup on Saturday. Since Logan Verrett grabbed a permanent role in the rotation he has a 4.97 xFIP with a below average 5.70 K/9 rate and extremely high 3.90 BB/9 rate.

Billy Hamilton (OF, CIN) $3,000

A cheap price to pay for a leadoff hitter with elite stolen base upside like Hamilton. He is on one of his hottest two week stretches of the season slashing .277/.333/.319 with 11 stolen bases. The Reds should be able to put up some runs against Ivan ova who has surrendered four or more earned runs in eight of his last 12 games.
