FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (6/18/16): MLB DFS Advice

Welcome to another busy Saturday in daily fantasy baseball. The early slate gives us nine games leaving us with a small six game evening slate. There are some elite pitching options in Max Scherzer, Zack Greinke, Jon Lester, and some excellent second tier and value options as well giving us a ton of ways to go with our lineups.

We can find value tonight in some teams who are normally priced up at home in great hitters parks who are now on the road in good matchups. Yes, I am talking about you Colorado Rockies! In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for FanDuel on 6/18/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on FanDuel.

Editor's Note: RotoBaller has the best Premium MLB Subscription for only $1.99 per week. DFS Lineup Stacks to Target for FanDuel

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Yovani Gallardo(Orioles)

The Blue Jays are red hot right now winning four straight and seven of their last eight games while scoring 69 runs in the process. They ripped in to Mike Wright last night and get another elite matchup tonight vs. Yovani Gallardo who will make his return to the rotation on Saturday. He was rocked earlier in the season and has seen a huge drop off in velocity which could make for a disaster vs. a power house like the Jays. They are expensive but Edwin Encarnacion, Michael Saunders, and Josh Donaldson will be worth every penny and provide huge upside, as we have seen recently.

Colorado Rockies Right Handed Bats vs. Wei-Yin Chen(Marlins)

The Rockies are always a nice stacking target when facing a left handed pitcher as the rank 9th in wOBA(.327) and 6th in ISO(.182) vs. southpaws. Tonight they get a great matchup and have seen their prices dip on the road. They will face Wei-Yin Chen who has been a tire fire lately giving up seven home runs in his last two starts with a 7.15 ERA. He has also struggled vs. right handed bats giving up a .341 wOBA and 37% hard hit contact. The top options are Nolan Arenado, Trevor Story, DJ LeMahieu, with value in Ryan Raburn and Mark Reynolds. You can also consider Charlie Blackmon hitting leadoff who has been surprisingly good vs. left handed pitchers this season(.308 average).

Kansas City Royals Right Handed Bats vs. Matt Boyd(Tigers)

The Royals are in a terrific spot to put up runs on Saturday night. Matt Boyd has been awful in two road starts this season giving up nine earned runs(4 HR) in just nine innings pitched. He has also struggled vs. right handed bats giving up a .336 wOBA  and surrendering all five home runs against to righties this season. It is a great spot for Lorenzo Cain, Kendrys Morales, Salvador Perez and even Eric Hosmer hits left handed pitching decent.

Also Consider - Milwaukee Brewers vs. Michael Bolsinger(Dodgers)

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for FanDuel

Max Scherzer (SP, WSH) $11,500

Top pitcher on the slate. Comes into Saturday with a three game win streak limiting opponents to three earned runs while striking out 28 and walking just three. Only risk with Scherzer is his high HR/FB rate of 16.5% but it isn't as concerning considering he is pitching to a 3.40 ERA and even more impressive 3.28 xFIP. He gets an elite matchup vs. the Padres who rank dead last in wOBA(.278) and wRC+(75) vs. right handed pitching while striking out 24.1% of the time. He is safe in all formats.

Zach Greinke (SP, ARI) $11,000

Greinke has been on fire lately winning six straight and seven of his last eight starts. In that time he has limited opponents to a .216 average while pitching to a 2.57 ERA and striking out 47 and walking just 10 batters. He will get one of the best matchups of the day against the Phillies who rank 28th in wOBA and are tied for last in wRC+ vs. right handed pitching. He doesn't coem with the K upside of Scherzer but is a very safe choice for cash games and makes a contrarian GPP play who could coem with low ownership with Scherzer jsut $500 more.

Also Consider - Steven Matz (SP, NYM) $10,100

DFS Infielders to Consider for FanDuel

Yadier Molina (C,STL) $2,500

If you are not paying up for Lucroy or Posey you can find soem excellent low end value with Yadier Molina. He has strong career splits vs. right handed pitching and has provided four multi hit efforts in his last eight games. The low price allows flexibility at other positions and makes it easier to pay up for Scherzer or Greinke.

Edwin Encarnacion (1B,TOR) $4,400

Somehow is is till not the highest priced option on Fanduel. He is on a tear a the moment with seven straight games with 18+ FanDuel points with four of those over 30 points. He gets another great matchup on Saturday vs. Gallardo and his sub 90 mph fastball velocity.

DJ LeMahieu (2B,COL) $3,300

You can always find value in the Rockies bats when they go on the road as their salaries are always $200-$500 cheaper than at home. The park shift is negative but the matchup is elite as Wei-Yin Chen has surrendered seven home runs in his last two starts. He hits second in the lineup giving him tons of run potential in front of power hitters like Nolan Arenado, Carlos Gonzalez, and Trevor Story.

Didi Gregorious (SS,NYY) $3,100

He has been on a tear in the month of June hitting .340 for the Yankees and adding a ton of fantasy value with two home runs and nine runs batted in over the past four games. He normally hits 7th in the lineup which takes away some value but being on the road the Yankees are guaranteed nine innings.

Nolan Arenado (3B,COL) $4,100

As I mentioned above with LeMahieu the Rockies have seen a price drop since going on the road opening up a nice spot for value tonight. Arenado is crushing left handed pitching this season with a .431 wOBA and 157 wRC+. Great matchup vs. Chen who has been dealing up long ball after long ball(seven in his last two starts).

DFS Outfielders to Consider for FanDuel

Lorenzo Cain (OF,KC) $3,600

With salary considered, Cain is one of the top outfielders on Saturday with almost everyone going in his favor. He is starting to heat up with five hits in his last three games including two doubles. He absolutely crushes left handed pitching with a .453 wOBA and incredible 190 wRC+. He will face Matt Boyd who has struggled with control(3.86 BB/9) and been hurt giving up five home runs in his first four starts.

Carlos Gomez (OF,HOU) $3,000

He is finally showing signs of life and has gotten his average over the Mendosa Line with seven hits in his last three games. If he continues to hit he will soon find himself moving up in the order where he will provide even more value in the young but extremely talented Astros lineup. He has put up 15+ FanDuel points in six of his last 10 games.

 Steven Moya (OF,DET) $2,000

Moya was called up after J.D. Martinez was placed on the disabled list and set to miss four to six weeks. He picked up a hit in his first game hitting out of the seven hole. If you are looking to fit Scherzer and a top stack in your lineup today you are going to need a few punt plays to get there.

Also Consider - Curtis Granderson (OF,NYM) $3,600
