FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (10/1/16): MLB DFS Advice

Welcome back to the last Saturday of daily fantasy baseball for the regular season. With just two days remaining there is still a lot to play for in both the American League and the National League wildcard races with at least three teams in each league with a mathematical chance.

For daily fantasy it is going to be tough for pitching tonight as the top options as the top options(Lester & Kershaw) will most likely be limited with their teams playoff spot already locked. It will be a great night to avoid cash games and go allin on tournaments as there are some nice value pitchers on the mound and uncertainty across the entire landscape of games.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for FanDuel on 10/1/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on FanDuel.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target for FanDuel

Colorado Rockies vs. Wily Peralta (Brewers)

It will be your second to last chance to stack the Rockies at home in Coors this season. They let us down last night in a 4-1 win which will hopefully drive a few people in other directions. The Rockies get a matchup with the highest over/under(12) of the slate against a below average pitcher. Wily Peralta comes into tonight with a 5.10 ERA and 17.8% HR/FB rate which is not a good combination for your final start of the season in Coors Field. The center piece of the stack should most definitely be Nolan Arenado with DJ LeMahieu, Charlie Blackmon and Carlos Gonzalez making elite secondary plays tonight.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Clayton Richard (Padres)

Outside of the Rockies/Brewers game the highest projected total comes in this game(9.5) with the D Backs sitting as -120 favorites. Despite being one of the worst teams in the league against right handed pitching the D Backs have crushed lefties in 2016. Coming into Saturday they rank 2nd in wOBA(.346), 3rd in wRC+(109) and 1st in ISO(.199) against southpaws. They get a matchup vs. Clayton Richard who is more than due for some regression since joining the rotation. He has been impressive with a 1.88 ERA in his last eight starts but a 4.03 xFIP and poor 5.63 K/9 rate suggest it won't last. Load up on the D Backs at home tonight.

Also Consider: Toronto Blue Jays vs. Eduardo Rodriguez (Red Sox)

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for FanDuel

J.A. Happ (SP, TOR) $8,800

Happ becomes the top pitching option on a night where it is probably wise to avoid the elite aces who could very well be limited. Happ and Blue Jays have everything to play for on Saturday as they dropped the first game in Boston and sit just one game ahead of the Tigers for the final wildcard spot in the American League. Happ has been tremendous this season with a 20-4 record while pitching to a 3.20 ERA. The Red Sox present a very tough test with the leagues top offense which limits Happ to tournaments only tonight.

Tanner Roark (SP, WSH) $8,300

Right behind Happ in the salary is Tanner Roark who also makes  nice value GPP play tonight. He allows you to spend up on some bats and comes with a nice matchup and fairly high ceiling on Saturday. He got beat up in his last start vs. the D Backs but before that had limited opponents to two earned runs or less in five straight starts going at least five innings in each game. He will face a Marlins team tonight who ranks in 25th in wOBA(.309) and 24th in wRC+(91) against right handed pitching.

DFS Infielders to Consider for FanDuel

Evan Gattis (C, HOU) $3,000

He won't break the bank at $3K and has huge power upside against left handed pitching. Coming into tonight he has hit 10 home runs and added 14 RBI and 15 runs scored in the month of September. With a 25% K rate for the season he is hard to trust in cash games but is an excellent play in tournaments.

Miguel Cabrera (1B, DET) $3,900

He is doing everything he can to get his team to the playoffs with four home runs in his last three games and hits in eight straight and 11 of his last 12 games. He is safe in all formats.

Ian Kinsler (2B, DET) $3,900

With only a few teams still fighting for a playoff spot it is a wise idea to roster as many of them as you can. Kinsler is another Tiger who has been hot down the stretch trying to aid his team in to the post season. Hitting out of the leadoff spot he has recorded a multiple hits in six of his last seven games.

Tim Anderson (SS, CWS) $2,900

Hard to argue with the price tag on Anderson if you are looking to stack a top offense tonight. Anderson hits leadoff and has is much better against left handed pitching with a .322 average. He will get a great matchup vs. Santiago who has given up 10 earned runs in his last two starts including four home runs.

Adrian Beltre (3B, TEX) $3,500

In his 19th major league season Beltre is still performing at a high level with a .298 average and, 32 home runs and 103 RBI in 2016.  He has also been red hot down the stretch as the Rangers try and clinch home field throughout the ALCS. In the month of September he is slashing .337/.396/.630 with seven home runs. At an affordable mid $3K price he is safe in all formats.

DFS Outfielders to Consider for FanDuel

Charlie Blackmon (OF, COL) $4,100

the top target in the OF tonight is going to be Charlie Blackmon getting his second to last start in Coors for the 2016 season. He has provided value across the board this season with 28 HR, 80 RBO, 117 scored and has added 17 stolen bases. He has also been hot down the stretch despite the Rockies being out of a playoff spot. In the month of September he is slashing .326/.379/.605 with a 141 wRC+ and 20 runs scored. He is safe in all formats.

Curtis Granderson (OF, NYM) $3,700

Going from a player on a team with nothing to play for to a team with their playoff lives in the balance. The Mets currently hold a one game lead on the Giants and two game lead on the Cardinals in the NL wildcard race. After being moved around the lineup for most of the season Granderson has settled nicely into the cleanup spot. During the final month of the season he has been hot slashing .286/.400/.604 with eight home runs, 21 RBI and 23 runs scored.

Justin Upton (OF, DET) $3,400

It took all season for Upton to find his groove but he finally did. He is hitting over .300 in the month of September and has hit 12 of his 30 home runs and 27 of his 86 runs batted in this month. The Tigers are in a dog fight for the AL wildcard as they sit just a half game behind the Jays so expect a 100% effort from Upton and company today vs. the Braves.
