Justin's fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 1q of 2025. He looks at surprising performances from TreVeyon Henderson, Jalen Nailor, Tez Johnson, Dalton Schultz, and Colby Parkinson
Welcome back to Fact or Fiction, our weekly look at the NFL's most surprising performances. Except for this week, where there's no real point in looking at the biggest shock of Week 10.
That shock was Houston Texans backup quarterback Davis Mills finishing as the overall QB1 after leading a furious fourth-quarter comeback over the Jaguars. It was a win that might have saved Houston's season, but Mills will be back on the bench the moment C.J. Stroud clears concussion protocol, so there's really nothing to say about it.
But hey, we will look at one of Houston's skill position players, as well as four other performances. Then, we'll decide if the performances are signs of stronger games to come (Fact) or simply just a one-off (Fiction). So, let's look at Week 10 performances from TreVeyon Henderson, Jalen Nailor, Tez Johnson, Dalton Schultz, and Colby Parkinson.

TreVeyon Henderson, RB, New England Patriots
Week 10 stats: 14 carries for 147 yards and two touchdowns -- overall RB4
The TreVeyon Henderson breakout game appears to have finally happened. He'd been trending up in recent weeks with Rhamondre Stevenson sidelined, and in Week 10, he showed why the Patriots spent a second-round pick on him.
Henderson took advantage of his speed against the Buccaneers, hitting two of the three fastest speeds of Week 10 on his own:

That speed allowed him to break off multiple long touchdowns, as he became he first New England player to ever record multiple 50-yard touchdowns in a single game. On both touchdowns, Henderson squeezed his way through a crowded defensive front and then was just GONE. Like...that dude was a rocket on Sunday.
But it's probably notable that of his 147 rushing yards, 124 came on two plays, right? When Henderson wasn't able to hit his stride, he had 12 carries for 23 yards. There's something very boom-or-bust about that.
Add in that Stevenson is back at practice, and fantasy managers should probably temper expectations a bit here. Henderson has definitely earned more touches than he was getting earlier in the year, but as I mentioned in the previous paragraph, we're likely still looking at a very boom-or-bust fantasy play here. The good news is that more touches make the boom weeks more likely.
Verdict: Henderson is trending up, but Stevenson's return makes this more of a Soft Fact than a Real Fact. He's got value, but not too much value.
Jalen Nailor, WR, Minnesota Vikings
Week 10 stats: five catches for 124 yards and one touchdown -- overall WR2
Fourth-year wideout Jalen Nailor had his best game of the season on Sunday, catching five of his six targets for 124 yards and a touchdown against the Ravens.
It was...a weird game. Justin Jefferson was targeted 12 times but caught just four passes for 37 yards. Jordan Addison was targeted 11 times and only brought in three of those for 35 yards. T.J. Hockenson was a non-factor, while Nailor was the bright spot for an offense that simply wasn't great in Week 10.
I don't think we need many words here to say what this was: a fluke. Nailor was third on the team in targets and played 21 fewer snaps than Jefferson and 18 fewer than Addison. Those two are still the top two options on this team by a wide margin.
Nailor just happened to have the right confluence of events happen to have a strong showing: Baltimore's defense shut down the other two receivers, and Nailor happened to be on the receiving end of this big throw from J.J. McCarthy:

Don't expect a repeat performance of that, but Nailor might be intriguing in dynasty, assuming he signs elsewhere this offseason.
Verdict: Fiction
Tez Johnson, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Week 10 stats: four receptions for 42 yards and two touchdowns -- overall WR8
I'm not sure if this is really a "surprise" as much as it is a culmination of a recent trend, which was that Buccaneers rookie wide receiver Tez Johnson had been playing well and was due for a real breakout game. After finishing as a fantasy WR2 in both Week 6 and Week 7, Johnson had his first WR1 finish against the Patriots.
The Mike Evans and Chris Godwin injury situations could have really screwed the Buccaneers, but a pair of rookies has helped the team survive. First-rounder Emeka Egbuka has been one of the league's best receivers, and now Johnson is coming on strong.
Since his role expanded against Seattle, Johnson had played a key role, albeit one where his output feels a bit limited. He's had between 42 and 59 receiving yards in all five games, which suggests he's fairly touchdown-dependent still, because without those scores, his stat lines would be fairly disappointing.
The good news is that I'd expect Baker Mayfield to continue looking Johnson's way in big situations. He's a little bit boom-or-bust, but the bust weeks feel much less likely than they do for someone like Nailor.
Verdict: Fact-ish
Dalton Schultz, TE, Houston Texans
Week 10 stats: seven catches for 53 yards and one touchdown -- overall TE4
Before Houston's bye week, Dalton Schultz was struggling. His best weekly finish was TE20, and he had just one game with over 40 receiving yards.
But something changed after the bye week. Schultz finished as the TE4 this week, his second finish as a top 10 tight end over the last four games and his third as a top 15 tight end. He's cleared 50 yards in three of the past four games as well.
What's changed? Well, a big part is just that he's out on the field. In his three best games since the bye, Schultz has played at least 75 percent of Houston's offensive snaps. Before the bye, he'd hit that mark in two of five games.

Schultz isn't some dynamic, playmaking tight end, but he offers Houston a pair of reliable hands who can help move the chains. The Texans' offense has been taking advantage of that more recently, and it's a trend that should continue even after Stroud is back under center.
Verdict: Fact? Schultz should at least be on the streaming radar as a low-end TE1
Colby Parkinson, TE, Los Angeles Rams
Week 10 stats: four catches for 41 yards and one touchdown -- overall TE7
Colby Parkinson caught his first touchdown of the season on Sunday against the 49ers and also finished with a season-high four receptions on an also-season-high five targets. His 41 receiving yards were his second-most of 2025.
It was a solid showing for the sixth-year tight end, but it's not something we need to read into too deeply. He's still averaging just 15.6 receiving yards per game, which is only incrementally better than his career average of 13.1. He has more games with zero (or fewer!!!) receiving yards than he has games with more than 20 receiving yards.
There's really no reason to think Week 10 changes anything. Parkinson is usually good for one or two touchdowns per season. This was the "one." Don't waste your time in fantasy chasing the second one.
Verdict: Fiction
