NHL DFS Analysis and Picks for 05/01/24

Matt Duchene - DK $4.7K || FD $5.4K
Opponent - Vegas Golden Knights
In the first two games of the series, the Stars, and particularly Duchene, did not perform well. However, Peter DeBoer made some changes to his lines, and as a result, we have now tied the series. Even though Duchene and his new linemates did not score a goal in Vegas, they were quite effective. Now that they are back home, they will likely get more favorable matchups, so I expect them to take advantage of that. They are a sneaky line stack tonight.

Kevin Fiala - DK $5.6K || FD $7.3K
Opponent - Edmonton Oilers
Matchups matter a lot in hockey, and in the upcoming game, Kevin Fiala will once again be facing off against the defensive pairing of Brett Kulak and Vincent Deharnais. In the two home games they have played so far, this pairing has been giving up an average of 3.6 expected goals against per 60 minutes, 30.86 scoring chances against per 60 minutes, and a whopping 22.05 high-danger chances against per 60 minutes. If the Kings want to extend the series and take it back to LA, then their third line, especially Fiala, will need to have big games and score a couple of goals tonight.

Thomas Harley - DK $5.0K || FD $3.9K
Opponent - Vegas Golden Knights
During the playoffs, some players raise their performance to a higher level, while others will do whatever it takes to achieve a win and selflessly support their teams. Harley is one of those players who demonstrated this attitude by blocking a total of 10 shots in two games in Vegas, five in each game. Additionally, he managed to take a couple of shots himself. It's worth noting that he would be a better fit for a DK play due to the shot block bonus.
