DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (7/8/23): Today's Top MLB DFS Lineups

James Paxton - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Injury News

The top main-slate daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings on July 8, 2023. Josh Costello's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

Happy Saturday morning, RotoBallers! I'm excited to cover another Saturday DFS slate. We have Friday's games in the rearview mirror, so let's break down my favorite plays for today's main slate!

We have a seven-game main slate on DraftKings and FanDuel. Even though there are fewer games than yesterday to choose from, more than a few decent options are available.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks on 7/8/2023 and the main slate locking at 4:05 pm ET. The lineup picks will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. It's also essential to monitor injury news and today's MLB starting lineups. Now that we got all that out of the way, it's onto the picks!

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

James Paxton, BOS vs. OAK ($10,500 DK, $10,600 FD)

Paxton is the most expensive pitching option available on both sites, and it is clear why. The Oakland Athletics have the third-worst OPS and fourth-worst team batting average against left-handed pitching. Paxton has also been excellent since being activated from the injured list. The veteran Southpaw owns a 2.70 ERA with 61 strikeouts in 50 innings. Paxton has pitched at least five innings in seven of his nine major league starts this year. Take a chance on Paxton against the Athletics.

Ranger Suarez, PHI vs. MIA ($8,700 DK, $9,600 FD)

Suarez has been an excellent pitcher since the end of May, going on a six-start streak of six or more innings with two or fewer earned runs, but his fortune turned sour last Sunday against the Washington Nationals. The 27-year-old gave up five earned runs, including two home runs in that start. The Miami Marlins are among the league's worst home run-hitting teams against right-handed pitching, hitting a home run once every 37 at-bats. The Marlins are ground into the most double plays in baseball.

Suarez owns a 50% ground ball rate and a 10.4% HR/FB%, which bodes well against the Miami Marlins. The Phillies starter is a bounce-back candidate and should be a strong play on Saturday.

Also, consider: Gavin Williams

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Adolis Garcia - OF, TEX vs. Jake Irvin ($5,800 DK, $4,000 FD)

Adolis Garcia has undoubtedly been one of the most valuable hitters in baseball through the first half of the season and gets a matchup against Jake Irvin on Saturday. Irvin has not been particularly effective at getting hitters to swing and miss this season. If the Rangers have a big game against him, Garcia will likely be in the center of the action.

Christian Yelich - OF, MIL vs. Luke Weaver ($5,000 DK, $3,700 FD)

Yelich is no longer the perennial MVP candidate he was for multiple years, but he has proven that he still has some gas in the tank this year. The veteran outfielder has been productive lately, getting hits in seven straight contests, including four multi-hit efforts. The Brewers face off against Reds starter Luke Weaver on Saturday. Yelich is 2-for-6 against Weaver with two home runs and two RBI. Yelich should stay hot.

Jarren Duran - OF, BOS vs. Paul Blackburn ($3,500 DK, $3,000 FD)

Duran is a difficult player to evaluate in season-long fantasy due to his role on the Red Sox, but he is a valuable asset in daily fantasy. The young outfielder has been extremely productive, batting .588 with five doubles and two triples in the last seven days. The 26-year-old faces Blackburn on Saturday, and he is 3-for-6 against him. Duran should be trusted in this matchup.

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Elly De La Cruz - SS, CIN vs. Colin Rea ($6,000 DK, $4,400 FD)

The Reds phenom has been up and down early in his career, but he appears to be on a roll lately. The young shortstop has a five-game hit streak and has not struck out in his last two contests. The Brewers starter Colin Rea gives up a decent amount of hard contact and does not strike out many batters. De La Cruz could feast in this matchup.

Nathaniel Lowe - 1B, TEX vs. Jake Irvin ($4,600 DK, $3,200 FD)

Texas Rangers first baseman Nathaniel Lowe has cooled down a bit from his hot start to the season but has still shown the ability to collect hits at a solid clip. Lowe has a modest four-game hit streak and hits in six of his last seven contests. Lowe has been lacking power lately, and that may remain the same against Irvin, who owns an 8.6% HR/FB%, but the opportunity to drive in and score runs is also there for hitters in the Rangers lineup.

Owen Miller - 2B/3B, MIL vs. Luke Weaver ($3,700 DK, $2,500 FD)

Owen Miller was overvalued to begin the year because of some unsustainable production, but he is now undervalued for daily fantasy. Miller faces Weaver, who has a 5.37 xERA and allows a 15.6 HR/FB%. Playing in the hitter-friendly environment of American Family Field and the fact that Weaver has a .338 BABIP should only help Miller's chance of producing in this matchup.

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

Texas Rangers vs. Jake Irvin

The Nationals starter Jake Irvin owns a 4.70 ERA and a 5.71 xFIP through 53 2/3 innings this season. Irvin also has a low K/9 of 6.71 and a high BB/9 of 4.36. The Nationals pitcher is also at the bottom of the league in chase and whiff rates. Irvin has a tough time getting hitters to miss, which could be disastrous against the dangerous Rangers lineup.

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Luke Weaver

The Brewers are facing veteran right-hander Luke Weaver, who has not been pitching especially well this season. Weaver has a 6.72 ERA and an xERA of 5.37. The 29-year-old pitcher has not had a good season since 2019 and does not appear to be turning it around soon. Weaver also has an xBA and xSLG of .283 and .497, respectively. The Brewers should be able to capitalize on this matchup at home.

Also Consider: Boston Red Sox
