DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (7/30/22): Today's Top MLB DFS Lineups

Ranger Suarez - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings on July 30, 2022. Thunder Dan's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

Today we actually get a pretty beefy evening slate of games, when usually Saturdays can be full of afternoon games and weird starts. The main slate on both sites is a full 9-game slate, and that's the slate I will be covering for you today!

How about Seth Brown yesterday? A double-dong day from one of my value outfielders was nice to see, and that big number from him helped me cash a few lineups as well. It was a weird slate last night with the Jays, Dodgers, and Brewers all pretty much busting - and the Yankees busting out in the ninth inning for a bunch of runs. Let's see if we can't find some good spots to attack with arms and bats tonight, shall we?

As always, this article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel. Saturday's main slate locks at 7:10 EST on 7/30/2022. The lineup picks will range from some elite high-priced players to mid-priced options, and value plays. I'll give you a few of my top pitching options and then some infielders, outfielders, and teams to stack! You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. It's also essential to monitor injury news and today's MLB starting lineups. Now that we got all of that out of the way, it's onto the picks!

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

If you like data, here are some projections for today's starting pitchers. Green is good for the pitcher, while red is bad!

Framber Valdez vs. SEA ($9,700 DK, $10,400 FD)

It's pretty thin up at the top of the salary scale at starting pitcher today. Musgrove has been shaky lately and Kershaw is in Coors. Valdez, however, is enjoying another solid season and has been very good over his most recent stretch of starts, including a gem against these Mariners in his last outing. He's the best of both worlds this year, as he's maintained his great groundball numbers while also upping his K% at the same time. He's worth spending up on here and the Houston offense should provide him plenty of run support.

Ranger Suarez @ PIT ($7,600 DK, $8,400 FD)

Lefties against the Pirates is a thing! Heck, anyone against the Pirates is a thing lately. Pittsburgh is rolling out a lineup of almost all young players these days. Vogelbach is gone, Reynolds is out of the lineup currently, and it's either free-swinging kids trying to prove themselves or retreads like Josh Van Meter in the lineup nightly. Their K rates have climbed against both righties and lefties, but they are especially bad against LHP. We saw Bailey Falter dominate them yesterday, and the crafty ground baller Suarez should have no problem putting up a solid score with an effective outing against them here tonight. Valdez/Suarez in cash games and move along!

Also consider - Johnny Cueto vs. OAK, Mitch Keller vs. PHI

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Nolan Gorman - 2B, STL vs. Erick Fedde ($3,200 DK, $2,500 FD)

This impressive rookie has now homered in back-to-back games for St. Louis and he's far too cheap for the solid production that he's had against righties this season. He's now up to a .212 ISO against RHP, a pretty big number, especially for a middle infielder. Fedde is still a very hittable pitcher, and we know how badly the Nats bullpen behind him stinks, too. The Cards' offense looked good last night with their big boppers back in there, it's a great spot for them again today.

Austin Riley- 3B, ATL vs. Corbin Martin ($5,900 DK, $4,200 FD)

I almost had him in yesterday's piece, but I didn't want you to think I was just being lazy and saying "always play Riley against lefties" as he had a great matchup against Mad Bum last night. He went 3-4 with two doubles and a HR and was a slate-winning type of play. Don't shy away from him today against the righty Martin, he's been crushing righties this season, too, and specifically, he hits curveballs really well, which is the main offspeed pitch he should see from Martin.

Will Smith - C, LAD vs. Kyle Freeland ($5,100 DK, $3,400 FD)

I am going with another catcher here, even after Kirk let me down last night. I should have paid all the way up for Will Smith, as he went 2-3 with a walk and a HR against the Rockies. Smith should bat cleanup here against the lefty Freeland and has the second-best wOBA on the team against LHP this season at .406 (Mookie comes in at .412). The Dodgers will be chalky, of course, but I don't think we can ignore them entirely. And remember that no one ever plays catchers on FanDuel!

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Seth Brown - 1B/OF, OAK vs. Johnny Cueto ($2,800 DK, $2,700 FD)

Can we run it back tonight with Brown again? Why not? While Cueto hasn't been nearly as bad as Lance Lynn, he's still not the pitcher he once was and he's mainly a sinker ball guy now, who is allowing the ball to be put in play often. Seth hits sinkers hard (46% hard contact) and we know he has a powerful HR swing. He won't get cheated on any swings and at this price, I'll take another shot at him going yard.

Yordan Alvarez - OF, HOU vs. Chris Flexen ($5,700 DK, $4,600 FD)

I'm not sure how much cajoling you need to roster Alvarez. If Aaron Judge wasn't already doing incredible things with a baseball bat, I think Alvarez would be a lock for the AL MVP. He and Judge are both putting up video game numbers and he just continues to rake nightly. Against a high-contact pitcher like Flexen, I have to like his chances of hitting the ball hard and racking up some extra-base hits or a HR tonight.

Darin Ruf - 1B/OF, SFG vs. Drew Smyly ($3,400 DK, $2,600 FD)

I know, I know - I can hear it already. "But what happens when they pinch hit for Ruf later in the game?" That's simply a risk you have to take when playing any of the Giants platoon guys, the same risk comes with playing Austin Slater as well. Ruf's profile and splits against the lefty Smyly are simply too good too ignore, however. Smyly throws mainly a cutter and a curveball at this stage of his career, and Ruf's profile matches up so nicely that I'm banking on him making good on his salary even in only two at-bats against Smyly.

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

Here are my top stacks for tonight (in the order in which I like them)

  • Atlanta Braves (5.9 implied run total) vs. Corbin Martin (5.53 xFIP)
  • St. Louis Cardinals (5.3 implied run total) vs. Erick Fedde (5.35 xFIP)
  • Arizona Diamondbacks (4.1 implied run total) vs. Ian Anderson (5.12 xFIP)

I hope I gave you a head start on your research today and I wish you the best of luck! If you ever have questions about DFS or fantasy baseball, my DMs are always open and I appreciate you taking the time to read my picks today.
