DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (4/13/22): Today's Top MLB DFS Lineups

Austin Riley - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Values, MLB News

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings on April 13th, 2022. Juan Carlos Blanco's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

Welcome back to another edition of the FREE DraftKings and FanDuel MLB DFS picks. There's a split slate on tap Wednesday, and although DraftKings does not have an all-day slate, FanDuel does. Consequently, today's article will feature picks on both sites for games throughout the day, as even on DK, the suggestions will prove viable for someone playing one of the site's split slates.

There are some particularly big names on the hill Wednesday, but there are also some solid second-tier options that can save you some salary and which will be the focus of my suggestions. Luckily, there are also some hittable/inexperienced arms getting the starting nod, which I believe will afford some quality hitters that have gotten off to slow starts a chance to snap out of their skids.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for Fanduel and DraftKings on 4/13/2022. The lineup will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports. It's also essential to monitor injury news and today's MLB starting lineups. DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Adam Wainwright - P, STL vs. KC ($8,700 DK, $8,700 FD)

Wainwright is one of those arms just alluded to, with the ageless right-hander capable of an expansive fantasy ceiling and already having delivered 26.5 DK/46 FD points in his first start of the season against the Pirates. The Royals present a more formidable challenge, but current KC bats have a collective pedestrian .251/.294/.396 slash line in 84 career encounters against Wainwright. Kansas City has also scored just 19 runs through five games, and the Royals posted an anemic .295 wOBA and -34.5 wRAA against right-handed pitching on the road last season. Meanwhile, Wainwright boasts a 12-7 record, 2.76 ERA, and 0.9 HR/9 at home across 176 innings since the start of the 2020 season.

Shane McClanahan - P, TB vs. OAK ($7,500 DK, $8,800 FD)

McClanahan opened up the season in impressive form, firing 4.1 scoreless frames against the Orioles and recording seven strikeouts. It was a solid start for the southpaw after an impressive rookie season, and he should have a good chance to cool off a suddenly hot Athletics offense on Wednesday. McClanahan has a brief but positive history versus Oakland's current bats, having held those he's faced to a collective .222/.347/.222 slash line in 17 total encounters. The young lefty also fashioned a 7-3 record, 11.2 K/9, and 3.50 ERA across 64.1 innings at Tropicana Field as a rookie, exceeding 20 DK points six times and 30 FD points eight times in that sample.

Other options: Max Scherzer, NYM at PHI ($10,100 DK, $11,000 FD)

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Ty France - 1B/2B, SEA at Dallas Keuchel ($4,200 DK, $2,800 FD)

France got off to a hot start over his first two games before hitting a 1-for-11 skid over his subsequent three. However, he could well be due for a breakout Wednesday against the aging Keuchel, who he owns a .333 average against in six career plate appearances and who allowed a .286 average .355 wOBA, and 21 home runs to right-handed hitters last season. In turn, France eviscerated lefties for a .311 average, .370 wOBA, and 141 wRC+ in 2021, and he owns a .363 career wOBA against Keuchel's trademark sinker, which the veteran allowed a .380 wOBA on last season.

Trea Turner - 2B/SS, LAD at Chris Paddack ($5,800 DK, $3,700 FD)

Turner has hit safely in each of his first four games, but all have been singles, leading to uninspiring returns from a DFS perspective thus far. Naturally, Turner is too talented for his pedestrian production to persist much longer, and he could be poised to snap out of his funk Wednesday against Paddack. The right-hander allowed a .325 average and .381 wOBA to the 228 same-handed bats he faced last season, along with an elevated 22.4 line-drive rate. In turn, Turner posted a .306 average and .364 wOBA against righties on the road while also slugging 17 of his 28 home runs on the season off that handedness.

Brandon Crawford, SS, vs. Sean Manaea ($5,100 DK, $2,500 FD)

Crawford is another quality bat that's gotten off to a sluggish start in '22, going 3-for-16 with no extra-base hits. The veteran shortstop is coming off a career-best season, however, one that saw him hit for average (.298) and power (57 extra-base hits, including a career-high 24 homers). Crawford has typically held his own in same-handed matchups throughout his career, forging a .264 average at home against southpaws in his career. He's also enjoyed success versus Manaea, posting a .357 average with a pair of doubles in 14 career encounters. Meanwhile, Manaea was highly impressive in his Padres debut with seven no-hit innings against the Diamondbacks, but he's shown flashes of brilliance throughout his career only to prove unable to sustain it from start to start at times. Moreover, it's worth noting that Manaea gave up a .340 wOBA last season on his most often-used pitch, the sinker, an offering Crawford pounded for a .397 average and .492 wOBA.

Austin Riley - 3B, ATL vs. Josiah Gray ($5,000 DK, $3,900 FD)

Riley got off to a great start with three hits, including a homer, on Opening Day. However, he's gone just 3-for-17 since then, yet certainly has a shot at making some noise Wednesday. Gray already got the season off to a rocky start by giving up four runs over four innings to the Mets in his first start, and he allowed a .355 wOBA and 2.3 HR/9 to right-handed hitters last season. Riley is hitting .333 and boasts a .445 wOBA in the early going against right-handed pitching this season, and he posted a .312 average, .941 OPS, and .396 wOBA versus that handedness in 2021. The Nats bullpen could also be a good target for Riley once Gray departs, considering they've already logged the fifth-most innings to date this season (22.1).

Other options: Jose Ramirez, 3B, CLE at Nick Lodolo ($5,600 DK, $4,400 FD)

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Aaron Judge- OF, NYY vs. Jose Berrios ($5,300 DK, $3,800 FD)

Judge will naturally require a hefty investment, but needless to say, he's worth it, particularly for tournaments. The slugger has reached safely in every game thus far, but he's yet to go deep. However, he may find a facilitator in that regard in Berrios, who he's already punished for a .583 average in 14 career encounters. Berrios lasted just a third of an inning against the Rangers in his season debut, and although he's naturally a much better pitcher than that would imply, he does have a fair share of trouble keeping the ball in the park. Judge pounded righties last season as well, posting a .283 average, .375 wOBA, 141 wRC+, and 24 home runs against that handedness.

Kike Hernandez - OF, BOS at Eduardo Rodriguez ($4,700 DK, $2,700 FD)

Hernandez's proficiency against left-handed pitching is the stuff of DFS lore, and he'll be in an interesting matchup Wednesday against a former teammate in Rodriguez. Hernandez actually has some experience against Rodriguez, albeit over a very small sample, but he's laced three singles in five career encounters against the lefty. Meanwhile, he furnished a .260 average, .850 OPS, and .362 wOBA against lefties last season, while Rodriguez was tagged for a .282 average and .334 wOBA last season by right-handed hitters while also yielding 14 of the 19 homers he gave up to that handedness.

Franmil Reyes- OF, CLE at Nick Lodolo ($4,500 DK, $3,200 FD)

Reyes gets a crack at a rookie left-hander making his first major-league start in Lodolo, certainly a tantalizing scenario for DFS purposes. Reyes already has a pair of two-hit tallies in his first five games, but he's yet to lace his first XBH. The slugger produced a .260 average, .876 OPS, and .367 wOBA against left-handed pitching last season while also posting an impressive 40.5 percent hard-contact rate against that handedness. The Reds bullpen could also be very good targets for Reyes once Lodolo is out of the game, considering Cincinnati relievers had to work five innings Tuesday and had already logged 17.1 frames coming into the day.

Other options: Luis Robert - OF, CWS vs. Robbie Ray ($5,800 DK, $4,100 FD)
