DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks (2/26/20): NBA DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on February 26, 2020. Dale Johnson provides NBA DFS analysis and sleeper picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

We are back Wednesday with a loaded, nine-game slate. The Brooklyn Nets (-1.5) at Washington Wizards, Orlando Magic (-2.0) at Atlanta Hawks and Los Angeles Clippers (-5.5) at Phoenix Suns all have projected point totals of over 227.0. Keep an eye out on these matchups which could yield big fantasy results.

The Washington Wizards, Charlotte Hornets and Atlanta Hawks are all defenses to target on this slate as they have been known to give up big games this season. What also makes the Wizards and Hawks so fantasy-friendly is their respective paces. With the Wizards third and Hawks seventh in pace, opponents have much more possessions which, coupled with their less than stellar defenses, lead to more buckets and counting stats for fantasy points.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 2/26/20. You can also check out today's FanDuel lineup picks. Remember to monitor injury news as the slate can completely change before lineups lock.

DraftKings DFS Guards

Spencer Dinwiddie - PG/SG, BKN @ WAS ($8,000)

Start guards against Washington. It is as simple as that. Washington has been infamous for giving up huge numbers this season, especially against opposing guards. They are the 27th-ranked defense and give up the fifth-most points in the paint to opposing guards this year. If that is not enough to sway you, they give up the fourth-most overall points, field goals made and assists to opposing guards. It also helps this game is projected to be the highest scoring game of the night. Dinwiddie has shown how productive he can be with Kyrie Irving (shoulder) on the sidelines. If you feel Dinwiddie is a little too pricey in this slate, give his teammate, Caris Levert ($7,500) a look. Buyer beware of LeVert inconsistency, but he has been on a tear lately.

Goran Dragic - PG, MIA v. MIN ($6,300)

Dragic has been one of the most consistent contributors at guard over the past month and a half. Dragic is currently on a 17-game streak with double-digit scoring and has been incredible off the bench, especially in the month of February. In the 10 games this month, Dragic has put up averages on 17.4 points, 5.1 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 2.2 three-pointers. Dragic plays much better at home with a +5.3 fantasy point differential when compared to away games. Minnesota struggles against scoring guards, particularly at the free throw line. Minnesota gives up the second-most free throw attempts and fifth-most over points to opposing point guards. Jimmy Butler's (personal) status is iffy for Wednesday which would boost Dragic's value even higher.

Shake Milton - PG, PHI @ CLE ($4,500)

It was recently reported point guard Ben Simmons (back) is dealing with some nerve issues in his back and will be re-evaluated in two weeks. With Simmons on the pine earlier this season as well as on Monday, Milton has risen up to the occasion and won the starting job. In nine starts this season, Milton averaged 9.9 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.3 three-pointers, and 1.0 steals in just 25.6 minutes per game. Milton and the Sixers travel to Cleveland on Wednesday who have given up the most fantasy points to opposing point guards this season. Milton has great per-minute production and does not need much to produce value at his current price tag.

DraftKings DFS Forwards

Aaron Gordon - SF/PF, ORL @ ATL ($7,800)

Gordon was one of the main topics of discussion surrounding the All-Star weekend after many believe he was snubbed of yet another Slam Dunk Championship. What was lost in translation was just how good Gordon has been playing over the past month. Gordon is averaging 19.3 points on 46.7 percent shooting from the field and 41.5 from three, 8.9 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 1.4 threes and 1.3 steals through nine games in February. These averages are easily his best month of the season and gets an easy matchup on Wednesday. The Hawks have given up the second-most points, field goals made and rebounds to opposing forwards. They have also given up the most steals and blocks to opposing forwards. Look for Gordon to make some high-flying highlights on his way to having himself a day.

De'Andre Hunter - SF/PF, ATL v. ORL ($4,900)

How is his price tag still this low? Despite being hobbled by an ankle injury over the past few weeks, Hunter's play and minutes have not seen much of an impact. After missing Saturday, Hunter came back to post 22 points, seven rebounds, two assists and one three-pointer in 39 minutes on Monday. This extended his double-digit scoring streak to six-straight games. The visiting Orlando Magic are also ranked 20th in field goals made and 25th in rebounds and assists for opposing small forwards this year. Hunter is listed as probable with the ankle injury, but should not be in danger of missing the contest or having any sort of limitations.

DraftKings DFS Centers

Mitchell Robinson - C, NYK @ CHA ($5,100)

A new coach in town had people excited about the potential of Robinson with more minutes, however he has not been properly unleashed yet. Good news for fantasy is Robinson's elite shot-blocking ability allows him to put up production despite the limited minutes. Robinson has posted at least 20.0 fantasy points in five straight games and at least one block in six straight games. Robinson and the Knicks travel to Charlotte, the 22nd-ranked defense in the league against opposing centers. The Hornets are also on the second leg of a back-to-back where they were blown out by the Indiana Pacers. They also gave up 21 points, 15 rebounds and nine assists to Domantas Sabonis in the process. Robinson's limited minutes and possible foul trouble has kept his price tag low and is worth a flier in this matchup.

Jakob Poeltl - C, SAS v. DAL ($3,200)

Poeltl will likely be one of the more popular punt plays on Wednesday with LaMarcus Aldridge (shoulder) already ruled out. Poeltl will presumably start against a larger Dallas Mavericks frontcourt. In nine games as a starter this season, Poeltl has averaged 7.6 points on 60.8 percent shooting, 8.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.2 blocks in 27.3 minutes per game. These averages are more than enough to blow his price tag out of the water. Poeltl also allows you to buy up in other positions and grab a superstar.
