DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (6/19/16): MLB DFS Advice

It's Father's Day, so that means it's a perfect day for MLB action. Of course, there are plenty of different contests to participate in on DraftKings. All you need to do is figure out if you want to use games from the entire day or just part of the afternoon.

Choosing the right pitcher is essential to success in daily fantasy baseball, and today presents a bit of a challenge with no real aces taking the hill. As for hitters, there's always a mix of big names and sleepers to use in your lineup.

Editor's Note: RotoBaller has the best Premium MLB Subscription for only $1.99 per week. We have all the tools to help win your seasonal and daily leagues: Hitter & Pitcher Streamers, Matchup Ratings for every player, Sleeper Surgers for AVG, HR, Ks, PLUS Daily DFS Cheat Sheets, Lineup Picks, Expert Lineups, Stacks and Avoids.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for DraftKings on 6/19/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on DraftKings.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target on DraftKings

New York Yankees vs. Ervin Santana (RHP)

Ervin Santana has really struggled this season, picking up a loss in each of his last five starts and giving up five earned runs in each of his last three trips to the mound. The Yankees, particularly those hitting from the left side of the plate, should be ready to tee off on Santana today. Carlos Beltran has a lifetime .429 average against him and should be the start of your New York stack. Jacoby Ellsbury, Brett Gardner, and Brain McCann are other guys to build your lineup around today.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Zach Eflin (RHP)

Eflin had his major league career get off to a very rough start by allowing eight earned runs in just 2.2 innings of work against the Blue Jays. While the numbers are not likely to be that bad, it's very possible that Eflin struggles in his second start. That's why Arizona is a team to consider for a lineup stack today. Aside from plying in game in a hitter's park, the Diamondbacks have been swinging the bats well lately. Lefties Jake Lamb, Michael Bourn, and Chris Herrmann all make for good options. Paul Goldschmidt has been hot lately, so don't forget to stack him as well.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider on DraftKings

Jordan Zimmermann, DET at KC - $7,100

Zimmermann has struggled over his last two starts, allowing 11 earned runs, though he still picked up a win in his last outing over Chicago. Overall, Zimmermann has solid season stats, siting at 9-3 with an ERA of 3.46. He gets a decent matchup with the Royals today and has actually been very good in road starts this season (4-1, 2.16 ERA). Despite an outburst of offense the last two days, the Royals rank near the bottom of the league in team batting average and home runs. Use caution, because there's some rick involved here, but his ownership should be low enough to bring added value.

Kenta Maeda, LAD vs. MIL - $10,700

Maeda has been very strong recently, picking up wins in three of his last four starts and posting an ERA of 1.96 in the month of June. His season ERA is down to 2.71 and he's up to 71 strikeouts. He's got good stuff and gets a very favorable home matchup with the Brewers today. He's only 2-4 at Dodger Stadium this season, but has a good chance to turn that around. There was a question as to wether or not he'd start today after suffering a leg contusion in his last start, but all signs point to him being on schedule.

DFS Infielders to Consider on DraftKings

Catcher (C)

Chris Herrmann, ARI at PHI - $5,200

Wether you are using him as part of a lineup stack or on his own, Chris Herrmann has a great matchup in Philly today against righty Zach Eflin. Herrmann should be the one behind the plate in the righty versus lefty, and that's probably the reason that he's priced as the most expensive catcher today. For the season he has hit righties to the tune of .278 with five home runs and 22 RBI. There are obviously cheaper options available today, but if you want a good hitter with a favorable matchup, take Herrmann.

First Base (1B)

Mike Napoli, CLE vs. CWS - $4,400

You'll have to scroll down just a bit to find Napoli, as he's priced well below some of the bigger names at first base today. Nonetheless, the veteran has been very productive this season. He had been slumping a bit coming into today, but a home run Saturday might get him started again. With an average of nearly nine fantasy points per game, Napoli is one to target today in a matchup with lefty Carlos Rodon.

Second Base (2B)

Devon Travis, TOR at BAL - $3,600

Lucky for you, some fantasy players may ignore Devon Travis thanks to his .228 batting average. However, those who do a little research will see that he's heated up over the last week and has therefore become relevant for DFS lineups. He enters today with a six-game hit streak  three straight double-digit fantasy performances. The road matchup against Chris Tillman is tough one, but Travis is 1-for-4 with a double, walk, and 4 RBI lifetime against him.

Shortstop (SS)

Eduardo Escobar, MIN vs. NYY - $3,100

Some of the other targets being suggested today are a bit pricey, meaning that you'll have to look for some value to save cap space. Enter Minnesota's Eduardo Escobar. Priced at just $3,100, he's a steal right now given his recent production. He's been dialed in this weekend against the Yankees, hitting a home run on both Friday and Saturday and putting up monster fantasy numbers on DraftKings. After two huge games, why not hope for three? Just expect a higher ownership number than he would normally have.

Third Base (3B)

Justin Turner, LAD vs. MIL - $4,000

This one is easy. Turner has been known for being a streaky player, and he's hot right now. He's hitting .423 in the last week and is having a huge weekend against the Brewers. After launching two homers Friday night, he went deep again on Saturday. There's always some risk with Turner due to his lack of consistency, but it's time to ride the hot hand. He'll likely be a popular pick, so don't be surprised to see fellow fantasy players go the same route.

DFS Outfielders to Consider on DraftKings

Rajai Davis, CLE vs. CWS - $4,500

Davis was given a day of rest Saturday so he should be ready to go in a favorable matchup Sunday with lefty Carlos Rodon. Davis enters today with three straight games of at least 10 fantasy points on DraftKings. A big part of that is the fact that he's been active on the bases, swiping three bags in his last three games. Davis should be considered a very strong target for your lineup today.

Shin-soo Choo, TEX at STL - $3,300

Maybe a trip to the DL was all Choo needed to get rolling this season. He's hit safely in three of the five games he's been in since returning and has two multi-hit games in the last three. Choo has a very good history against today's starter, Mike Leake. He has four hits, including a double and a home run in eight at-bats against the veteran righty.

Hyun Soo Kim, BAL vs TOR - $3,700

With a righty on the mound in Marcus Stroman, Kim is likely to get the start and hit near the top of the Baltimore order. Despite a recent slump that's seen him hit just .167 over the last seven days, Kim has performed very well against right-handers (.337), and at home this season (.368). The Korean outfielder seems to have a knack for getting on base and makes for a good start whenever he's in Baltimore's lineup.
