DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (4/24/16): MLB DFS Advice

Every team is in action this Sunday, meaning that the lineup combinations on DraftKings are virtually endless. Days like this are great because you get to choose if you want to just participate in games taking place early, games taking place later, or a combination of both.

This weekend brings some interleague play, presenting some matchups that are very one-sided. Although there are not really any big aces on the mound today, several pitchers make for an attractive option thanks to the matchup.

I'll get into some specifics later, but one game to keep an eye on from a fantasy perspective is the one at Coors Field between the Rockies and Dodgers. The ball has been jumping out of there this year, the game one to keep a very close eye on for fantasy purposes.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for DraftKings on 4/24/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on DraftKings.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target on DraftKings

Chicago Cubs vs. Alfredo Simon (RHP)

Simon has a 12.15 ERA and a record of 0-1 to start the year. With most of his coming in a relief  role, he'll get the start today against a dangerous Chicago lineup. Dexter Fowler and Anthony Rizzo make for strong plays today against Simon, as does Miguel Montero.

Colorado Rockies vs. Alex Wood (LHP)

Wood has given up nine total runs in his three starts while only striking out seven. Coors Field is almost never a good place for a pitcher, making the Rockies an excellent stacking option today. The obvious choice is Nolan Arenado, who has two homers and five RBI in nine career at-bats against Wood. Other Colorado right-handers worth taking a look at are DJ LeMahieu and Trevor Story.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider on DraftKings

Jason Hammel, CHI at CIN - $

As discussed above, the Cubs make for a good stack today against Alfredo Simon. For that reason, pitcher Jason Hammel is also a wise selection for DFS lineups. The Reds have been struggling to hit, while Hammel has been sharp in his first three outings of the season. He allowed a run and struck out six while taking a no decision in his first game, but has since reeled off back-to-back wins. He's allowed just two total runs and has 15 strikeouts in his three starts. Hammer should be considered one of the best DFS options at pitcher today.

Stephen Strasburg, WSH vs. MIN - $

The Nationals look like one of the top teams in baseball this year, while the Twins do not. Pitcher Steven Strasburg has been showing the dominance he had when he first entered the majors. Through three starts he's allowed just three earned runs while striking out 21. Strasburg is pretty much a no-brainer today.

DFS Infielders to Consider on DraftKings

Catcher (C)

Wellington Castillo, ARI vs. PIT- $3,000

Finding some production with a low salary will be key today if you are looking to afford a big pitcher and some top offensive players. Castillo offers a price tag that's about as low as you can get while putting up great numbers recently. His average is low, but he's shown power, especially with Friday's two-home run performance.

First Base (1B)

Chris Davis, BAL at KC - $4,100

At this point in his career you know what you are getting with Davis - a player who'll hit for a low average and rack up plenty of strikeouts. However, he'll do those things while mashing homers. Davis is hitless in his career with six strikeouts against today's starter Yordano Ventura, but that's actually good for you. Some fantasy owners may shy away from Davis today based on those numbers, but he hits well against right-handers. Just expect a few strikeouts.

Second Base (2B)

Logan Forsythe, TB at NYY - $3,700

Drafting Forsythe will help you save some valuable cap space, but it's not just a throw-away pick. He's been performing very well this season, especially recently. He only has three at-bats versus Michael Pineda and two of them were hits. He's by no means a sure pick, but a leadoff man for under $4,000 is worth taking a chance on.

Shortstop (SS)

Jordy Mercer, PIT at ARI - $3,300

This is a definite sleeper pick, but Mercer is hitting for a good average and has really been racking up the DraftKings points over the last few games. You'll likely get a low ownership with Mercer, making him an even better pick for your lineup in GPP contests.

Third Base (3B)

Nolan Arenado, COL vs. LAD - $5,300

Arenado is one of the best producers of fantasy points, especially when hitting at Coors Field. He's really struggled on the road this season, but has raked at home. He's a must-start against lefty Alex Wood today. Arenado went yard off of left-hander Scott Kazmir Friday and will look to do the same today.

DFS Outfielders to Consider on DraftKings

Dexter Fowler, CHC at CIN - $4,900

Fowler gets the advantage of a very good matchup with Alfredo Simon today. Pair that with recent stretch of good games, and Fowler is an outfielder to target today. He's working on a six-game hit streak and is capable of hitting for both power and average. Sitting at the top of a good Chicago lineup makes him even more valuable.

Billy Burns, OAK at TOR - $4,000

Burns has a seven-game hit streak entering today and seems to have a grip on the leadoff spot in the Oakland lineup. He won't hit for power and easily be overlooked, but don't write him off. He's been a safe bet to at least get on base recently, giving him plenty of opportunities to rack up points. Don't forget about his ability to steal bases.

Ryan Raburn, COL vs. LAD- $3,700

Rayburn has crushed left-handed pitching this season, making it likely that he'll be in the Colorado lineup today. He two-for-two in Friday's game and hit a homer off of lefty Scott Kazmir. I'm going to bank on him keeping the good vibes against southpaws rolling today.
