ANALYSIS: The NFL is an unpredictable sport, and fantasy football is an unpredictable game. Exhibit A is Craig Reynolds, who has pretty much come out of nowhere to become a relevant running back for the Lions and fantasy managers. For the 2nd week in a row, Reynolds surprised just about everyone and racked up 26 carries for 112 yards. Oh, the Lions also blew out the Arizona Cardinals.
With the state of injuries and COVID-19 outbreaks around the league, a running back that is getting touches and being productive is incredibly valuable this time of year. It's tough to know how much Reynolds will play in Week 16, since D'Andre Swift and Jamaal Williams have both started practicing again, but it's a low-risk flier worth taking to try and find out.
This is certainly a situation to keep an eye on throughout the week, and in the meantime it's worth adding Reynolds off the waiver wire as a potential FLEX play. If either Swift or Williams do not play, then Reynolds will surely get some work and would be in consideration for fantasy managers. Make the pickup, and see how this plays out.
